But the good news is I'm after a GTV V6, and I've managed to justify it to the mrs that its a good thing to have one aswell, that took an extra special moment.
Aww - at least she is going out on a high following her excursion at the weekend. My old 156 is going in the paper this week too, though I'm tempted to keep her just for looking lovely. Maybe we should buy up a nice garage and collectively keep all the Alfas we buy... Like Haynes but without letting in all that German tosh

Re: AOSW Chillout Lounge - Let's chat!

It is going out on a high, went down the A30 this lunchtime for a sentimental last blast to see what she could really do, didn't get that far, only had the stretch between scorrier & truro, got hampered by a fiesta!

Wouldn't it be great if we could just keep all our old cars, would make for a fantastic collection.

As they onwards and upwards.

Re: AOSW Chillout Lounge - Let's chat!

Nice idea about taking a V6 to see a V6, unfortunately this one is in Harrogate, I think by the time we'd get there with the economy of a V6 I wouldn't have anything left to pay for it.

Re: AOSW Chillout Lounge - Let's chat!

Well I'm still the proud owner of my 147, he's gone away to think about it, looks like they are after a bargain, said I wouldn't go any less than £3500 if I stuck 12 months MOT on it, they were doing the silent moments of waiting for me to say ok I'll drop the price, not in my nature, not given the effort I've put into the car.

Have I done the right thing or have I scared off a potential buyer?

Re: AOSW Chillout Lounge - Let's chat!

Just the variator and the parts putting on the car to the top & bottom N/S/F suspension arms.

Ongaros for some unusual reason never insisted the last owner replace the variator when they replaced the cam belt last year.

The guy from the AA turns out to be the uncle of the guy wanting to buy the car, started going on about how the car would need a complete respray because of the stone chips and a few scratches that you can hardly notice, then tried to catch me out after I said I would accept £3400 with the remaining 1 months MOT if they took it away now then asked would I take £3400 if I had it MOT'd, said no to that one saying I would expect £3500. Took him by surprise saying this as he said an MOT only costs £50, I replied even so it wasn't just the cost of doing this it was also my time and the companies time who I worked for if I had to go out of work to have this done in the time frame they were talking about.

I have a feeling the guy wants to buy the car but could be put off by his uncle.

Ok guys, I think i've managed to persuade the mrs that keeping the sprint over the 146 is a good thing, any ideas on prices for 146's these days?
