Right then guys whos coming to Castle Coombe on the 26th of May to watch the Alfa racing You know its gonna be another good one and its a bank holiday Monday!

A festival of racing for the hugely popular Lotus 7 lookalikes. Making a welcome return to Castle Combe and headlining the event will be two races for the Caterham Superlight Challenge, which is the pinnacle of the UK Caterham motorsport ladder. Supporting the Superlights are a plethora of Caterham Roadsport races which always feature bulging grids of slipstreaming action. For saloon car fans this meeting also includes the Alfa Romeo Championship, plus round 3 of the Castle Combe Championships for FF1600, Saloons & Special GT’s.

Practice is from 08.40 and the racing will start at about 11.00.

Admission costs £15 for adults and £7.50 for OAP’s with accompanied children free.

Yea all meet at quarry, will be there jsut after 9 so wave me over when you see my 33 on balck wheels.wave like you have never waved before.the parking stewards get a bit funny when it starts to get busy but im sure if you say we are having a club meet and you point to where the other alfas are they might let you park near them.

This'll be my first trip to Castle Combe and indeed, only 2nd Alfa meet (first being the AOSW trip to Haynes the day before!)
So, will not know members or their cars.
Am I right in thinking everybody is going to try to park together at the Quarry car park? We are staying overnite Sunday at Chippenham travelodge and hence will be coming westbound along M4 Monday morning. Is the quarry entrance easy to find from this direction?
How busy does it get? (aiming to get there 9 am)

It prob wont be too busy at 9, alot of will be arrive later more when the racing starts than the qualifying.

Yes people will be parking at Quarry car park and its easier to find, its not a problem.

Pretty shocking! Heavy rain forecast for pretty much the whole day. I'm still going to be there anyway though - GTA is washed and waxed ready to get filthy on the drive down!

I think we'll be passing - Castle Coombe isn't the best of places in the wind and wet! Forecast looks bad all day for the South West.

Ditto - good to meet you both as well. Was great to see and hear Neil winning so comprehensively - his 156 was planted on that track like nothing else we saw. Today was the first Alfa racing I've seen and I'm already scheming how I can get to another date - can't do 15th June, but might be able to make 13th July at Rockingham - watch this space!

I parked as near as I could to a 147 GTA and 159 Ti which judging by the alfaowner.com sticker in the window, I presume belonged to Aubrey,Nigel and/or 'Baby'?
Not knowing who you are, I promptly introduced myself to a couple of guys with an 'Alfa Romeo' umbrella stood near burger vans and got a rather bemused response as they were nothing to do with, nor had ever heard of this forum!!
It was only at the end of the day as we were about to leave that I noticed the 159 leaving and got an enthusiastic wave from the female passenger (was this you, 'baby278278'? - I was in the silver 156 parked opposite)
Only noticed a couple of other Alfas parked up - another silver 156 and a red GTV (probably belonged to the guys with the umbrella!)

Well you were right the 147 GTA Was Aubreys car
