Whos travelling from Cornwall to the meet?
Inspired by the recent Penrith multimeet and how they all met up, I was wondering where everyone would be travelling from in Cornwall to get the South West Meeting on the 25th.
Now I'm going to be setting off from Truro and heading up the A30 about 9ish, does anyone think it could be an idea to arrange a meeting point and we all follow each other to Podimore Services.
If we can all get together at suggested points it could make for a great start to the day.
What do you all think?

Alimac, a great idea
Come on guys - I know it won't quite be the 32 cars that the Penrith meet made, but lets have the biggest AOSW meet yet!!
If you don't know what the meet is about, click on the link in my signature! (Prancing Horses, Sporting Heart)

Still can't commit either way but I'm hoping to travel up for this one. Assuming I do, I'll be heading up from near Truro so could easily join a convoy
I'll try to let you know nearer the time.

Good to hear you could be going PP, I'll keep checking to see if anyone else wants to meet along the way, think KernowMcCrea is going, haven't seen him about on here recently.
Cheers Hammy, will add a link to here on the 'Prancing' thread.

Re: Whos travelling from Cornwall to the meet?
I'm trying to decide which route to take, been checking it out on AA Routefinder and its either going to be get off at J25 M5, A358 then onto the A303 (160 miles ish) or off at J29, A30 then onto the A303 (140 miles ish).
I'm wondering if its easier to take the longer route and stay on the motorway at a constant 70mph for a few extra junctions or use the A roads at a lower speed. It's only supposed to take an extra 20 minutes going the rong way round.
Any opinions?

Re: Whos travelling from Cornwall to the meet?
If I had the choice I'd rather take the B roads all the way! old a30 etc.

Re: Whos travelling from Cornwall to the meet?
Looks like we'll have to figure out a decent route then, think we have to cross over the M5 to get back onto the A30.

If it's a proper faf, shoudn't be a problem to stick to the A roads.. Where're we meeting then?

Re: Whos travelling from Cornwall to the meet?
Dunno yet, if it just ends up you and me then probably somewhere on the way out of Truro. Hopefully a few more closer to the time may join in.

Re: Whos travelling from Cornwall to the meet?
Think the route's looking like A30 - M5/J29 - A30 - A303.
AA Routefinder says it should about 3 hours, not sure if that can be right, my last journey from Truro I made it to Hilton services in the same time, think 2 hours should ok, or would you suggest leaving earlier?

Re: Whos travelling from Cornwall to the meet?
3 hours is probably excessive but 2 might be cutting it a bit fine if we get stuck in traffic... I'd be surprised if it took longer than 2.5 hours.

Good point, it is the bank holiday after all, plenty of caravans to dodge! Sounds like you could be joining us Penguin.
