156 Servicing etc close to Salisbury

I have seen a few recommendations in Bristol for alfanet but was wondering if anyone has any recommendations closer to home...I'm in Andover, between basingstoke and Salisbury.

Anyone help?

Old Sarum Business Park (the Airfield site), Autecnique. AR/SAAB specialists. They've moved from the London Road site after a split with the sales division. Think there was some major arguments going on.

Alternatively, there is a new AR dealer in Basingstoke.

Sorry, don't have any numbers to hand.

Re: 156 Servicing etc close to Salisbury

Thanks for reply gt - I did notice that the Alfa garage had shut.

With my newly aquired 184k on the clock 156 I'm looking for cheap hourly rates so will prob be avoiding main dealers (which I assume these both are)

Will be ringing around for hourly rates but its looking like I may have to travel to either alfanet or angletuning to get my new toy looked at!

autecnique is an indie. Try Hillside Garage at Shipton Bellinger on the Tidworth road. Tony services my 145 even though it's a trek.

He runs a race team so knows a thing or two about performance cars.

Re: 156 Servicing etc close to Salisbury

I know hillside garage....there is also an 'alfa specialist' in Tidworth....

Garrison Motors, Station Road,
Tidworth,
Hampshire
SP9 7NW
Tel: 01980 843357

Alfa Romeo Specialists MOT's & Servicing - All Makes Servicing, Repairs & Parts Other Makes & Models Welcome Fault Diagnosis Engine Tuning

Anyone got any good/bad things to say about them?

Who is Tony? Is he Autecnique? If they are an indie do they have decent hourly rates?? (Will give them a call later)

Hmmm......not sure how far I can be bothered to travel to get this looked at...the alfa guy in Tidworth is very convienient!!

Tony is the boss at Hillside. I've always found him to be very reasonable. I used to do a lot of miles and have the car serviced every six weeks (10k miles) so got to know him quite well.

Don't know about Garrison Motors. Walked past it but never been in.

I went to Alltechnique - impressed with service.

Belive its £50/hr.

I have since heard very good things about the place in Tidworth - his rates are £45/hr - I belive he races Alfa's so is supposed to know his stuff.

You could try Red Motori in Spetisbury near Blandford. They've been looking after my 145 for years. Rates are £43.50 plus VAT

Re: 156 Servicing etc close to Salisbury

hi mate
i went to garrison motors when i first got my 156...won't be going again (though seeing Jane kinda made it worthwhile ) was somewhat unimpressed by the standard of their work..
i now take mine to AHM at Hartley Wintney-it suits me because it's on my way to work and Adie there has a courtesy car- don't know what his hourly rate is but he charged me 90 quid or thereabouts to change a driveshaft gaiter which garrison quoted 124 to do...and he just did my clutch and cambelt, which was a bit eyewatering, but i guess a clutch change was always going to be!
whereabouts in Andover do you hang out? i'll keep an eye open for you

You can send me all over this great big world, never find nuthin like my north end girl...
