Re: Introduce yourself to AOS...

Hi Alfasud, welcome aboard.

Get the drivebelt seen to ASAP. Alfa belts aren't renowned for their longevity.

Re: Introduce yourself to AOS...

Drivebelts seen to. Balance shaft idler & tensioner replaced along with belt. Still a very quiet whine & can't make up my mind if I am being paranoid or not.
I'll drive it for a while and get it seen to when I do a 3k oil change

Re: Introduce yourself to AOS...

Hello

Rodger here... I've been around on the boards for a few years but of late been keeping a low profile as I'm driving a Beemer , anyway thats all about to change with me collecting an 01 156 sw tomorrow, I've had many alfa's over the years starting with a sud which i learned to drive in many many many years ago.

Hopefully once i give the 156 a bit of a cosmetic overhaul i'll be trying to catch up with everyone at a meet during the summer.

I'm located in Stirling.

Thumbs Up Re: Introduce yourself to AOS...

Evening all been on the fourm for a wee while now got a silver 147 ts in the livingston area, had the car just over a year and so far i'm very happy driving the car up and down the A9 every weekend, despite the usual 147 problems i.e squeaky, knocking suspension and airbag lights but overall a great car.

I did get a bit of a slaging from mates for buying one originally because of the rumoured reliability problems which to be honest all cars have there problems and if you don't look after them properly

I must say also that this has to be the best owners fourm i've been on after being a former member of the renault sports community which was full of un-helpfull arrogent *&##holes the support and advice from members has been priceless on helping me keep my car healthy and on the road.

so if you see me around give me a wave silver 147 ts reg ending RKK

Hello both
Liam, try posting your questions in the 'Classic Alfas' lounge. I'm sure you'll get loads of help from others doing similar projects :flag:

Re: Introduce yourself to AOS...

Been posting on here since I bought my 1st Alfa 2 weeks ago - a 156 2.0TS which I am well impressed with and love to drive.

I am 28, married and have 2 sons, 6 & 3. Since I passed my test I have owned a Fiat Panda, 2 VW Polos, Audi 80, Suzuki Swift and a BMW 318.

Work in a Jobcentre and stay in Auchinleck which is around 14 miles from Kilmarnock. Also enjoy junior football (Auchinleck Talbot) and doing some work on cars although I am scared to touch the Alfa, probably cause it came froma garage with a 1yr warranty. Hope to get to a couple of meets soon and looking to change my car a bit but not drastically.
