Re: Introduce yourself to AOS...

Hi, I'm David and I live in Blackburn, West Lothian, with my partner of the last 16 years Jennifer. I work as a fleet controller for a major car rental company and Jen is Catering Manager for Lothian & Borders Fire & Rescue Service.

I've owned a Y2000 156 V6 Veloce3 (silver, dark blue leather, carbon effect dash, huge rear wing, etc etc) since March 2001 and it's now at 102k mls with only the odd major drama along the way - I'll be posting details of some in the not too distant future as there are some cautionary tales to tell.

Bought Jennifer a Y2004 147 1.6TS Lusso (black with grey/black cloth) in June 2006 and if any of you have read my postings in the tech forum (and the AOS 'Alfa Service in Scotland' thread) I don't need to say much more here.

She absolutely loved her intro to Alfa ownership right up to the second the timing belt abandoned this world. She's currently running around in a rented Corsa and A**a is most definitely a 4-letter word in her vocabulary.

Hope to meet some of you soon at the monthly meet.

Cheers
David

Re: Introduce yourself to AOS...

Hi, I'm Steven, been browsing the forums for a while, just picked up my 147 on Sunday and love it. Should have pictures as soon as the weather turns acceptable

If you see a gabbiano blue 147 in the kilwinning area then its most likely me

Re: Introduce yourself to AOS...

Hi folks
I'm Steven, live in Lenzie, East Dunbartonshire. 39, married to Paula with 1 wee one Jamie who is 4. Work as a rep for Marshall Wilson packaging in Glasgow, so my bella is my daily driver and work tool too.
Had a succession of Nissans in the past (my old Primera eGT's were superb), got scunnered with my last Primera diesel (Renault infested pile of $hite) and sold it to buy a car I'd always wanted yet never had the courage to own (Alfa). To much sucking on of breath from friends and family it must be said . . . . . . . . . .
Being part Italian Alfas always had a place in my heart so to say that I am chuffed to the gutties with my 156 would be an understatement!!!
Mines an '04 plate 2.0JTS veloce on 17" teledials and with eibach spring kit. I am the 4th owner which sounds horrendous but the history is genuine - Inchcape car for 9 months, private owner in Renfrew for 2 and a bit years, and I bought it locally in June from a chap who only had it 6 months and decided he could no longer afford to run 2 Alfas (he also has a 1.8TS Sportwagon).
If I had to change anything about it, I would remove the Eibachs and put the standard springs on as our roads round here are in nothing short of scandalous condition . . . . . .
Otherwise, love the car, love the forums and look forward to taking in a meet sometime soon.
Next car?? 159 or maybe GT if the wee one fits in teh back . ..

If you want the fruit to fall you gotta give the tree a shake
If you shake the tree to hard the bough is gonna break . . . . . . . .

Thumbs Up Re: Introduce yourself to AOS...

Hello,

My name is James, I am 28 and I live in Edinburgh. I work at Torness Power Station as an Electrical Engineer.

Not married but own a flat with my lovely Spanish girlfriend Maria.

Currently own a Peugeot 406 Coupe SE Hdi but am looking to change that to an Alfa 159 at some point this year.

Hope to make a desicion on spec etc in the coming months. Will probably buy second hand. The depreciation on the 159 is shocking I have seen so far.

Gtv Cup

Re: Introduce yourself to AOS...

hello to all dear Scots, am fairly new to this site and have recently (and finally) got myself a GTV. Fell for the car as a teenager and promised myself one someday.
When i hit 25 years of age, i vowed to get a sports car by the time i was 30, or to treat my 30th B'day.
I was wanting a nissan 350z a few years back but they have become a little too common now. Still a striking car but i looked deep into my heart and asked myself of where my earlier loves and passion where. the perfect answer was a GTV!
So apart from constantly smiling ear to ear, always looking back after i parked, washing her at almost every given opportunity and looking for tunnels to cruise through, i am really happy with her and hope i can meet fellow and local owners who can advise me of questions and queries. All the best and take care when driving. W.

Re: Introduce yourself to AOS...

Thought I did this a while back, obviously not, so here goes….

My real name is Liam, still a young ‘un at 21, I’m a Service Desk Analyst with a major satellite TV broadcaster. I am now on Alfa no.2 after rolling my beloved 145.

Hope to make the run to St. Andrews as I have missed all other meets for one reason or another.
