Please note the guys that designed East Kilbride town were given too many spherical blocks when they planned the road system. Those that get dizzy easily may want to take some anti-sickness pills before setting out.
CM Garage Services opens it's doors on the day for all alfaowners to come along for some Alfa chat with BBQ and refreshments. Everyone is welcome .
On the day Chick and his dedicated team of Alfa techs will offer a free diagnostic so if you have any rattles and shakes , smoke of any colour , heavy clutches etc here's a chance to find out exactly what's going on or indeed falling off..
Added attractions include the chance to meet Marc Hamilton of Altosportivo Performance & Styling with some sexy add on's on display to titivate your pride and joy . http://www.altosportivo.co.uk/page23.htm
Also a representative from Forte will be on hand to advice on their renowned range of engine treatments. http://www.forteuk.co.uk/index.php
Why not bring the kids? some bouncy stuff is being arranged as I type and if that doesn't transpire there are always buckets and sponges ... (sorry buckets and microfibre cloths)...only kiddin ....
Feel free to bring a bottle and your own BBQ favourites (and a driver if applicable) the more the merrier , that's bottles not drivers..!
Had my free diagnostic with the new trainee mechanics yesterday ( new government job creation scheme) .......nothing wrong with my pulse apparently ......:wow::inlove:
I had my 75 in at CM this week for new wheel bearings and they were saying about their ideas for enhancing the BBQ day. apart from beers and BBQ (outside help for the catering) they are thinking about a bouncy castle possibly with sumo suits. Sounds like a laugh.
I'm thinking this could be a significant outlay, what's everyone's thoughts about making a small (optional?) contribution, maybe £5? Or a donation box even. It's my idea, just to show a sort of appreciation for their efforts.
Don't want to scare anyone away by suggesting its an entry fee, just would seem fair to help a little, so lets discuss.
Like this idea Colin (I won't need to wear a suit) will need a significant increase in RSVP numbers to make it worthwhile me thinks ....see what feedback we get from others , no activity in the RSVP side this week ....maybe everyone has booked to get away from our increasingly typical summer ....
Just a few days left to register your interest in what promises to be a good day , and if this weather keeps up will make it a BBQ to remember (no pressure Lynette) ....seen loads local folks including a few newbie's posting up little niggles , your chance to get to the root of the problem.
Big Thankyou to SCGT for setting our BBQ up as an event . Looking foward to seeig those who can make it , realise it's a busy time of year ( for those lucky enough to be getting away ) but will defo be going ahead. Should be fun as Chick getting carried away with bouncy castles etc . Here's hoping the weather behaves . Lynette x
Event Reminder .......Open Day tomorrow , everyone welcome , great opportunity for new members to meet fellow alfaowners and get advice on any niggles that may need a bit of professional advice ....
Just out luck , weather has been pretty good until today & to be lovely tomorrow today looks like rain & rain . Please dont be put off as plenty of undercover in the workshops & gazzebos . Still hope to see lots of you there & the bbq menu looks fab .
Daughter comes first Frank , hope she gets better soon. Had a great day thanks to Chick, Lynette and the CM team who put on a great event with some superb BBQ supplied and cooked to perfection by Mama Mia catering . I took home a doggy bag and don't have a dog!!! Excellent prize draws (I won a GT holdall) and a guess the car competition. The kids had a ball on the bouncy castle. Excellent demonstration by Forte and a some lovely kit on display from Autosportivo , had to stay clear as my wallet is a bit airy at the moment. Snap On Tools also had a mobile drool shop to show off a daunting range of tools. Thanks to everyone that came along despite the poor weather , nothing like a day chatting with fellow Alfisti. Will start an image thread and start it off with some snaps from my toy camera. Hopefully Fraser will add some professional pictures later. Stuart
