Hi all,

Just been speaking to Simon and someone on here has just had an exhaust fitted with a box from Dan (Pud) at Autolusso. Was thinking of doing the same and wondered what you think of it and if you could get a clip up. Should be immense as the wizard /unicorse replica exhausts sound brilliant.

Here's hoping!

Simons custom exhaust in East Kilbride. Speaking to him about getting an exhaust for my GTV and he mentioned someone had been in to him having got a box from Pud and got him to do the rest catback.

Wondered how it turned out as I dearly want a wizard unicorse copy but the price is a bit steep as have just changed the clutch, flywheel etc and thought that this may have been the way to go. Also I think it would be better to have the exhaust fitted by someone known to be good (Simon) as living in the Highlands I can't get down to Dunstable where Pud is.

Simon had mentioned that his customer was on this forum so I was just trawling to see if I could hear the results.

If you want just the box itself its no problem we can sort that out for you, any welder can then fabricate the rest of the system to your liking. The box is sided, one end is specifically the entry and one end the exit, but other than that it is simple. We've sold a few bare boxes, but mostly for people who wanted the Wizard sound where we don't currently sell a complete system. Its worth bearing in mind though if your only concern is fitting, any garage should be able to fit an exhaust system no problem.

I've uploaded two pics of our GTV system so you can see what I mean in terms of the quality of construction and how everything is made; the Y-pieces (how neat are those welds?), the tailpipes are hand-cut, swaged and polished, every part of the exhaust is hand made by a 20-years experienced master craftsman. It all starts life as plain stainless steel tube and sheet, nothing is bought in pre-fabricated because we want the quality to be head and shoulders above anything else available and you just can't get that level of accuracy in mass-produced parts. .

There's nothing wrong with buying in universal exhaust silencers, tailpipes and bends and then fabricating them into a custom exhaust system, at the end of the day it does the job and with it being stainless it will last, plus its usually going to be loads cheaper. But we never set out to make loads of exhausts, we're happy just doing a few and making them the absolute best they possibly can be. :)

Hi Dan,

I know I want the wizard exhaust but just cannot afford it at the moment as I have just done loads to the car and got a bill for £1500. Maybe I should just wait but after doing so much myself as well as my garage the tatty exhaust is doing my head in on a daily basis!!

I was exploring if there was a cheaper way to do it. It's also a CF3 engine and wondered if I should change the manifolds to CF2 as some have said on this forum or decat?

The welds are very nice. I have just showed them to my father who has run jobs building rigs for the last 40 years and he said that they are good TIG welds but to get a shine on them they needed brushed more quickly after the pass while still hot but the guy knows what he is doing just as everyone else has said.

I have decided I am going to wait and get the right thing instead of going for the quick fix of a "normal" s/steel exhaust. The noise and workmanship is unsurpassed in my opinion.
