I see that this years event is not going ahead at hope torun house instead the are concentrating on next years event which will also be at another location, post is on piston heads forums
Sad news in my opinion what does everyone else think
This really sucks was one of the highlights of the year up here its always a great day and event they are wanting to make it bigger but just don't know how
Think something else should be organised but gutted all the same
Just read the thread on PH, basically Hopetoun are not car people. SIC&BD has been great, but the organisers want to have the cars moving so that we can see and hear them all in action.
However, could I ask moderators/admin to amend the thread title as Hopetoun was Scottish Italian Car & Bike day (run largely by one individual and all fees over costs went to Hopetoun's charity) and not to be confused with SICD as run by Alfa Romeo Owners Club Scotland (SAROC), which WILL most definitely happen again this year at Hill of Tarvit (NTS) on Sunday May 26th.
Everyone welcome. Especially all of those hot super cars - plenty of hard standing to show them off on the approaches to the house.

How about Callendar House in Falkirk, central for motorways, good hardstanding in front of the house with a huge flat grassed area in front of that. I know they have held music concerts on that area before.
Organising an event of that size isn't just about finding a piece of land. It's a massive undertaking. And an expensive one if you don't get the cars/public there.
I hope that a new venue is found for next year - it's a show I enjoyed going to each year. Inexpensive and dog friendly is always a huge hit with me, especially having to travel a fair distance and usually stay over
And it all started as an idea of mine back when I was a rep on here......to have a joint Italian vehicle club meet.
I luckily and randomly contacted the right person through Pistonheads and in that first and continuing years it turned into a very good event.
The scale and pressure of being involved in organising somthing like that is the reason I stepped away from it.
Actually spoke to the organiser the other day, but not about Hopetoun......look out for a feature on a Lambo or 2 of his in Retro Cars mag soon.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
