Those of you who've attended previously will need no further description of what the day's about but for any 'newbies' to the world of detailing, basically it's an opportunity to get your bella ready for winter, whether it be to get that extra layer of wax on ahead of the ravages of the coming season or to prepare it for garaging until the sun appears again.
Eastern Western Motor Group, in the form of John Forret (johnnytheboy on here) their Bodyshop Manager, have again very kindly extended an invitation to us to have the use of their facilities in the PDI centre - undercover outdoor jet-washing and indoor valeting bays (with electrical points) - for a social get-together with a practical twist. Bacon butties, a brew and a brain teaser or two will be included, with someone on hand to answer (hopefully) any queries you might have. It's hoped that a demonstator from motor and marine trade supplier Farecla might also be present to show their 4 stage paint protection product, G3, which has just been recently launched on the retail market, but no promises on that as they are in high demand throughout the motor trade. http://www.farecla.co.uk/#
So no matter whether you have an OCD like me (and srb71) and think nothing of spending a whole day buffing your bella, or simply want to throw a bucket of water in its general direction and spend the rest of the day leaning on the coffee machine engaged in Alfa-talk (or anywhere in between these two extremes), then this is the event for you. Eastern Western are very keen to promote stronger links with the Alfa community so let's try and respond with a good turn-out on the day.
David sounds like another great opportunity to get out Bella's clean for the winter. Unfortunately we won't be able to make this one as we only just get back that day from our holiday in Gran Canaria.
I'm ashamed just how filthy it is at the moment - I blame Jennifer for that as she's been using it the last couple of weeks while 'her' clutchless Giulietta languishes in Western's workshop. The 159 hasn't seen a bucket of water since Western cleaned it after its service 1800 odd miles ago, . I just hope it makes it through to Sunday without some little scrote etching "also available in black" into the tailgate, .
Get there early enough and you'll be at the head of the queue for the jet-wash,. After that, it's down to your skills with a polishing kit, , ................ oh, and how long you take to munch your bacon buttie, .
Washing supplies are provided - buckets of soap-suds, sponges, hot power-washer etc - so all you need bring with you are your finishing products i.e. polishing potions, cloths etc. I'm sure if FF doesn't relinquish his hold on yours, we'd be able to russle up a replacement, .
A BIG thank you to John, the chef and Eastern for a brilliant event.
Oh and the fellow alfa owners esp Mike's son and pal who wie nay effort at awe got rid of a dose of scratches.
And a special mention to FF who kept such guid care of my miracle wipe.
Than you for the use of the facilities, coffee and bacon butties John. You know if you ofer the free use of hoovers and a bacon butty or two you'll always get a good turn out from us lot

As a noobie to cleaning cars I just dooked into the big tub.NOTE TO SELF.ARRIVE EARLY...Possibly they startyed yellow wie some ice cream on them but when you are at the end they are soiled black etc.
Fink eye have caught the bug.Jist ordered new badges all round EXCEPT the TI badges..they fade too quickly.
Must source a pair of mits.
Thanks David and Easter Western for organising this. Great to get a layer of polish on the G after nearly 6 months of ownership. The car is, however, filthy already after a trip to Kirkcudbright today
Photos look great but can only upload them to AO as very small thumbnails. I'll send the links to Frank and maybe he can load them for me.
Incidently, I've had a couple of PM's sent to me. Unfortunately I can't read them as my inbox is full and I'm not paying for membership to give me more capacity. If anyone wants to contact me please do so by email frasduff@gmail.com
