Currently living in Bolton, North West England, but I'm moving up to Edinburgh on Saturday!

Is there much Alfa Owner activity going on in or around Edinburgh?

Also, can anybody recommend a good Alfa garage in Edinburgh? My car is still under warranty so I'm interested to hear about both dealers and independents.

Cheers,
Toby

Hi Toby, good luck with the move.

There will be various stuff on in the area over the course of the year. Have a look at both the Scottish regions diaries. We have quite a few in and around the Edinburgh area.

As for Garages, Western are good and will look after your car for you (I used to work for the Perth branch) Mclennans are in independant and have a good name for themselves also.

Hope to see you around over the course of the year at one of the meets. The Scottish Italian Car Day in May should be a good one

Cheers

Hi Toby, Western are good but everything to do with Alfas is expensive. I've heard good things about McLennans though his place looks like a tip but don't let that put you off. Another place is Labinjoh on Stevenson Road. The owner is an ex Alfa race mechanic with about 30 years worth of manuals in his head. He's a bit on the eccentric side from what I've heard but really good. Welcome to Edinburgh, Tom.

Well disappointed with western so far car booked in for a couple of issues usual dealer helpfulness plug it in no fault found theirs your keys bye bye.no real willingness to understand my concerns with the cars running....

Decided to pop in to mclennans bent over backwards to help agreed there seems to be a issue without knowing exactly what but is doing some research thats proper service.

Can't see me visiting western again unless issues arise within its last 3 months warranty

I know what you mean, I'm beginning to get fed up with Western. Have an on-going problem (I think every Alfa owner has) and only going back as they were supposed to have fixed it last time. Ain't paying any more for it!! It would be cheaper to have an ex-wife at this rate!!
Hi guys, which Western dealership have you been dealing with? I'm guessing Edinburgh onto your locations? I work at the Perth branch in the Sales department and can't recommend our guys highly enough.
Hope you both get all your issues sorted out to your satisfaction.

Welcome to sunny Scotland fella, moved up here 16 years ago now and in most, it's good the weathers ****e though, you will find the Scots a well balanced people in general as they have a chip on both shoulders ;),

The garage as to be McLennans as they know there stuff, not cheap by any means but they are good and I find its always better to support your independent than give the big boys your hard earned..

For get your english and you will be fine as, not joking about the weather, look forward to 2 weeks of sun if your lucky...
