Lacey had a flat battery again.Kiss of life off of Pomeo and oft she jolly well went.
Went to blast,at 70 of course, along the auld M74 and then the new bitty to get her circulation going BUT as I looked over the overhead bridge down on the motorway north of Bothwell....A COMPLETE 3 LANE TRAFFIC JAM AT A COMPLETE STANDSTILL.
Turned around and battery out the boot on the charger.
I was up in Glasgow today around 4 and the M8 was empty! Usually at that time the traffic is backed up from Govan, even when i was comming home around half 5 the traffic was still free flowing. Just goes to show what a difference a the M74 makes.
Well I went for a wee blast 2 nights ago and Boverill tae Ibrox in 15 mins.Nice new road....No bumps rumbling thro laceys auld suspension and just one bit of a ripple where they joined 2 section up.
BUT I remember the days of the original motorways...long,straight,level and outside lane for overtaking only NOT hogging as nowadays....the new road is like a switchback rolle coaster but it certainly seems to make a difference.
So far so good. As Aimee says the difference to the M8 at rush hour is very marked. My run home now akes about half an hour in stead of the minimum 45 min before . Still poop from Bailistone to Eurocentral all the same
:cheese::cheese:Jist as well Maggie shut the craig then Frank.
WAIT till the new widening starts..if it ever does....as wie this project ahead of time and under budget....amazing what happens when you over inflate the costs and projected finish date...They shood huv done that wie the Edinburgh trams and it wood huv been a success.
Took a wee hurl along it yesterday and, mad as he may be, oor Dunc is right, it is a 3 lane roller coaster all the way oot tae Carmile  But it is lovely and smooth. They even re surrfaced the old new bit from Maryvile to Rutherglen
It now takes 20 minutes to get home fae Cambuslang, although the M8 can be a tad sticky at the White Cart Viaduct, thumbs up so far to the new M74, plus it takes 5 minutes to reach Western Alfa from Cambuslang
