AC Regas in Ayrshire

Evening all,

My AC is in need of a regas (engine was out last week getting the clutch done) so I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place in Ayrshire to get it regassed?

Or would it be worth just popping to Halfords and buying the DIY kit?

Cheers,

Stew

MIne was recently done at Western, though under warranty as the charging point was leaking.

It still worked (sort of) but was getting really noisy.

Kwik fit is pretty much the cheapest, plus if they find a leak, or a regas doesnt fix it, they vac it back out and dont charge you.

It shoudl be fool proof... not idiot proof though - so watch who does it!

Yeah it was a Ayr that I went to - was on the way home from work, looked empty so I popped in.

Noticed a bit of a hiss from top of the dash when the compressor is on, only noticed it this morning, if anything it sounds like an extra supply of air at a different speed or possibly something adding some turbulence to the air and generating some noise (piece of paper maybe slipped into an extra duct I don't know the routing of the AC system), only on when the engine is on and the compressor... any thoughts? Since the system was vac tested I doubt it's a leak..
