I have just fitted some Accelera tyres to the front after reading the favourable reports from the 159 guys on here. My local stockist is the guy I've been using for years so handy. I can't rate him highly enough - the only fella ever to be able to get my wheel alignment consistently spot on (not just on the Alfa - every car I have ever had).

Anyway I digress. Chatting to him tonight he is happy to do a deal for AO members on tyres, alignment etc. The place is Gils on 290 Colston Road in Bishopbriggs. Speak to Alan or David and mention you are on Alfa owner. I'll report on the Accelera as they bed in, but initial impressions are ok (only done 5 miles so far . . . )

Stu its been a while and yes the X Type is reliable and a well kept value for money secret, I would love another Alfa just need to sweat the X type a bit longer. I think the 159 or a GT prehaps? Brera would not be practical enough. Sorry to hear what happened to your 166 bet you miss her especially the suspension! I miss my 166 they are unique cars. What are you looking at next.

Dont ask aboot wear as wie the 166 inner edgie problem its a fair bit uneven ...my God did I jist say fair...bloody extreme.Still all things being equal reasonable wearing tyres.

Well after about 700 miiles I can say the Acceleras are not bad at all. Bit noisy perhaps, and a bit understeery however excellent value foro money I think - not that it is noticeable on general running around. Not unhappy with them at all
