We're arranging a wee meet and possibly, short, run with Gaz from AONW on the 13th of February. The meeting will take place in Livingstone (Lime Kiln TBC) at 12 noon. If you would like to come along for a natter, a laugh and a bit of a blast please RSVP, noting if you are coming for food and if you are bringing a passenger or two.
Gaz from Lankashire (is that AONW?? We don't know, up here in the metropolis). And Livingstone is about 1/3 of the way along the M8 from Edinburgh to Glasgow
Frank, I've never been to the restaurant myself - just seen it in passing and thought it was conveniently located. It's a Belhaven pub, so it should be OK.
I also thought the option to use the multi storey car park opposite would be handy in the unlikely event of bad weather. Febuary in Scotland is normally very pleasant, but one never knows.
Also the retail therapy might be a selling point for some. Possibly even allowing the drivers time for a wee run? This route, for example, is only 22 miles, but has some nice hill-top car parks - and even a palace - for scenic photo opportunies.
I don't know if people want to go for a wee drive. (Gaz may have enough driving that weekend without a tour over the hill roads.) Although it avoids major roads, I can promise that this route is not single track with passing places.
Leslie, that looks lie a crackin' wee run. I love Linlithgow  One of the few towns left in the central belt that still has some of it's own character
If we get a lovely clear day like today there's some views from the tops of the hills on both the out and back routes. Make for some nice group shots, if someone remembers a camera. Although I doubt whether the photographers will get shots like those of the turquoise sea (and skinny dippers ) we saw on the North Scotland run.
Potential photo ops at the Palace and loch too, if anyone is interrested. I suspect that skinny dippers will be in short supply in Feb, there too.
