This is a rather sheepish post since I haven't been participating in the forum much of late (rather busy trying to keep the business on the straight and narrow whilts trying to improve my photography). Anyway, I'd hate to think that I only post when I'm asking for something (er, like last night) but I've entered some photographs in the MacAllan Masters of Photography competition, which has the theme "Great Journeys". Since last July's Centenary Run was a Great Journey in many ways I've posted two images from the trip together with three other images that capture various parts of Scotland in detail. Having looked at the "Masterclass" images on the website the images were chosen to comply with the theme and to appeal to the judges. However, after posting I found out that only the ten most voted for images will go forward for judging, so my grovel this time is to ask if you can be bothered voting for my pictures, which you can find on the second page from this link.
The two Centenary run images are of cars at Kylesku Bridge, the other three are the three preceding images of an autumn scene at Culzean Castle, a garden gate in Kirkcudbright and a birchwood in the Trossachs.
Lovely photos Fraser. I'm tempted to enter some myself I'll have to look carefully at the criteria; I'm fed up of being turned down for things at the moment
I don't think its very fair that the current top ten all on display and the rest of the photos are so difficult to display. It will be very hard for the top ten to change. plus when you look through some of the entries then you do get the feeling that you are not the only one producing a "vote for me" thread!
I do perfer the competitions with good old fashoined judges.
I'm in total agreement Stu. It actually says when you enter to make sure you get all your friends and family to vote for you! I must admit I would have selected a completely different set of images if I'd had the sense to read the full rules page beforehand.

Voted.........
You have very strong opposition, I'm no expert but was gobsmacked by many of the photos in the competition.....going back to have another look......
Personally, I liked the Avenue best. It immediately made me think of a description (with apologies to a Confucious saying) that "all great journeys consist of many small steps, each to be savoured".
