Yes I'm OK thanks. The story goes that I became part of the filling of a 6 car pile up on Wednesday night, on my way home. I wasn't quite as gutted as the young guy who managed to end up parking is 6 month old Audi TT UNDERNEATH a Citrion C6.
And all because of some wanger who decided to stop in the outside lane to see why the cops were on the hard shoulder with their blue lights on
I've been trying to get my phone to talk to my PC via bluetooth so I can upload the couple of photos I took. But I think they'r having a bit of a domestic at the moment.
Thanks for all the kind thoughts.
Alex, I have my fingers crossed that all will turn out well. Watch this space I stuck a small deposit on something nice today, with any luck (and I must be due some by now), all will be revealed in the not too distant future.
Brad, you should give us a shout the next time you're coming back up the road. We can get together for a coffee and a blether mate
Dave, hopefully, next year and the opening of the remainder of the M74 will make life a wee bit easier on the M8. The wife keeps telling me that I should go to work on Pubic transport, but I did that on Friday. A journey that takes 35 to 45 minutes in the car took 1h and 50 minutes. I also have to say (don't tell Ray) that the bus driver was a complete suicida maniac A|ll I could think was 'If this idiot does what we 6 drivers did on Wednesday then me and a couple of dozen others could be in deep doo-doo.
As for getting the train... Expensive and very unreliable . Not to mention very, very overcrouded.
I hate that road, or rather a fair proportion of the drivers (if they can be called that, ) that use it, with a passion and try to use any alternative route I can find to avoid it. This gives me yet another reason to continue doing so. Sorry to hear the news Frank but glad you're still reasonably hael and hearty,.
Really sorry to hear that Frank - but glad you're OK! Hope you get an "upgrade" sorted so you can come for another thrash round the Highlands next summer. (ps carol sends her love!).
As the police were in the vicinity is the person that stopped to gawp in the outside lane getting prosecuted? Or they stopped for debris in the outside lane?
Jay Walking and Rubbernecking need to be made criminal offences.
Bloody hell FF. Heard about the pile up on the radio the other night.
Shame about the car, however the fact that you are A-OK is most important of all. You had a lucky escape there and the bawbag that stopped should have the book well and truly thrown at him. Asswipe.
Look forward to seeing what you get next though. Suspect a 159.
Incidentally - I hear my prev 156 is up for grabs again . . . . . .
Oh Sh*t!!!!! Glad you are OK Frank. That road is a real PITA.
Hope you don't have to much issues with the insurance side of things.
Look forward to seeing your new wheels.
Thanks all. I'm happy with whay the insurance bods have offered me for the old girl. Graham, I don't want to tempt providence saying what I've found until the finance gets the go-ahead and the deal is signed. I'll just have to keep yu all on tenterhooks a wee bit longer
Sorry to read this FF I'm glad you are ok and the insurance is taking care of business .On the brightside you get to look for a new Bella .Happy shopping
Thyanks all. Ricky, I think the TT was aided in it's parking by the Renault that hit his back end (it was last to hit and was well minced at the front).
Lesley, just watch out for the doughnuts, the M8 seems to be where they all hide and they love to watch the pretty blue lights :loony::dead:
