A TVR Scotland club member owns the hotel and the manager is a mate of our Ultraviola.
A reasonable priced menu is available for their club members on the day, which we can have too. So there will be some TVR owners there for us to share the car park with.
Others may just want to come along for a wee meet up and a blether, with some coffee at the hotel after a short run from Stirling Services up to Gleneagles round in a loop and back to Broomhall.
I'll be having something or other anyway!
Menu attachment below......and dont worry about the TVR picture and heading, we're more than welcome to share the hotels car park and restaurant space for a wee end of year meet up!
For those not fussy for a big meal, tea & coffee in the lounge bar will be available free of charge.
The hotel has the Pistonheads Scottish section annual dinner and awards this weekend too.
Those who came along to the charity BBQ here a few months back will know what a great spread they put on and how freindly it was.
I'll stick a group email out for this too as the AOSS lounge has been a bit quiet lately!
Another 8 inches overnight. I know this 'cos I cleared it to road level yesterday and gritted it all - by hand. Running out of places to put the snow, now and the grit bin is under a snow drift.
On the parts of my garden I haven't touched, the snow is now 20 inches deep. No, not in a drift, in the open. I've never seen anything like it.
I can't see this road being clear enough for me to get up the hill by Sunday. Sorry.
We'll be lucky if the main roads are clear enough to get there nevermind the castle drive.
Will update this thread and pm everyone at the end of the week to confirm if its happening or not.
I think I'm unlikely to make this judging by what's happened so far and the forecast. Even if the snow stops, the plunging temperatures are going to make it treacherous Hopefully, we'll enjoy it more and have more folk in the NY Phil?
My bella is currently stuck 2 streets away as I was attempting to move her tonight to the main road - compacted ice covered with a foot of powdered snow saw to that
My autosocks haven't arrived either so am having to get the wife to give me lifts tomorrow.
It's like the 80s all over again - ah all those cancelled school days, listening to Bruno Brookes and watching movies on vhs ...... except I had thick spiked hair then :-(
Yeah not looking good for going anywhere far really is it.
On another note, I got an email from Xtreme Go-karting in Falkirk about an offer this Sunday.
3x10min sessions for the price of 2 @ £22, for prebooked groups.
Tempted to go to there then the nearby wheel house for a cappucino and piece tablet.
Its not reasonable to try and arrange this one on Sunday 12th either.
On the other hand I have got a date for Go-Karting the first Sunday in February.
