Can anyone recommend a good bodyshop/restorer in the Glasgow area?

My Lancia is in need of TLC as a small rust patch has developed on the bottom of the drivers door which is spoling the otherwise damn fine body (rust, on a Beta Coupe, who'd have thought!)

No, mine's red (check out the gallery for a picture). I didn't make it to Hopetoun but it was at Craigtoun if you made it along there (parked next to the Alitalia Stratos, which got all the attention!)

Any more recommendations for a garage slightly more central? Someone has knocked into my GT, damage looks fairly minor but I have a feeling the insurance companies chosen garage is going to town seeing as the insurance company is paying. I have a £400 excess and if possible want to avoid making a claim...

I've just had my bumber scrape done superbly by A. C. Taylor Coachworks (Linn Park Industrial Estate, nr. Castlemilk) and would recommend them :)

They were around £150 cheaper than Western's own centre and took care as they do a lot of prestige cars such as Porsche/Ferrari etc. They paint-match on site and turned around in a day. Seemed a very professional service - even giving me a lift to work after I dropped the car off with them!

The estimator I dealt with is a guy called Chris Stoddard (0141 634 8910) who was excellent. I told him there may be others from AO who may need work done in future and he said he'd be delighted to help

Hi, I've used Bennetts (Scotland) Ltd in Ayr quite a few times now and their work is excellent. Not the cheapest but their workmanship and paint matching is first class. Had quite a bit of damage on my old 147 after last winters snow and ice but didnt want to bust my no claims or pay the excess so paid for it myself, and the car looked like new after. Think they've got a branch in Glasgow somewhere.

Thanks all for the suggestions. For convenience I've lined up 'A1 Car Body Repairs' on Lancefield Sreet to do the work, primarily for convenience as they're close to my work and they'll also cover some of my insurance excess. It's taking my insurance company a while to approve the work but I'll report back in due course.

Jim Frame in Milngavie are excellent.

Very fast service and great results.

My old boy takes his 40 year old e-type and Merc SL 65 there and is always pleased with their results.

Seen lots of specialist suff getting done in there including a Lambo Countach.

Think they are listed as K.J. Frame.
