If not I know of some Scottish ones who could be contacted and I've seen before demonstrating products, techniques etc.
Cool, if you PM me their details I'll contact them to arrange a display area.

Re: Scottish Italian Car Day
Dear All
As both an AROC Scottish Section member and regular contributor to AlfaOwner, I feel I must step forward as many people, both on this forum and on others, seem to be coming up with their own ideas for exhibits etc on the day.
We have had issues in the past with regards to other parties doing this and, although we applaud everyones enthusiasm and contribution of ideas, we must ask everyone to run ideas past the organisers in the first instance. If not, then we have people from all sorts of forums inviting people to the show and promising areas in which to exhibit and demonstrate their wares/services without the knowledge of the organisers. As you can no doubt imagine, it is then that the whole thing becomes a bit of a shambles.
I am glad to act as a point of contact for these ideas and I will gladly make contact with those people who are recommended to us. If you have anyone in mind who might want to attend, then please PM me their contact details and I'll gladly speak to them.
Forgive my forthright approach, but as I said earlier, we have had issues such as this in the past where companies and clubs have turned up demanding areas in which to exhibit without us having prior knowledge.
Thanks guys - hope you understand our situation.

Re: Scottish Italian Car Day
Steve - thanks for your contribution. I was wondering about all these "extra" suggestions and how they would be managed.

Re: Scottish Italian Car Day
Well said Steve. I would back what Steve said by saying this is an event organised by AROC, not AO. for that reason it would be unfair for us to assume that we can invite who we like. And as long as Steve is happy to take on the ideas I'm happy to let him carry on. I'll be glad to organise any convoys, meeting points and routes, and happy to organise anything within the AO paddock, but it would be rood for me to assume that we can have any special treatment beyond Steve's kind invite.

INteresting; my first speeding ticket was on my way to the Italian Car day three years ago. Maybes the cops are on the lookout for that very reason.

Frank, will email you!
Think my suggestion and attempted help has been taken the wrong way, I have pm'd Steve and bp1000. I've not tried to organise anything for this event, but only tried to find out a few companies which would be suitable and worthwhile for AROC Scotland to contact.

Re: Scottish Italian Car Day
LIke the idea of the convoy - my only potential snag is being bleary eyed as I get in to Edinburgh at 1030 the previous night from Italy. That said - I will be there. What is the script re parking etc??

Re: Scottish Italian Car Day
It would be good if AROC did allow some car related specialists to attend the show this year........would make a pleasant change to paying to park your car in a field just for a natter with fellow owners of italian cars, looking at a couple of model car sellers, an italian manufacturer merchandise stall, teasing 'Western' about a future car purchase and going for a row around the boating pond.
I'm afraid when it comes to car shows I've found that the english do them sooooo much better. It could be something to do with being the only italian car show in Scotland.......so no 'competition' out there. Unlike down south.
