Friday Night at The 02 Arena

7.30pm

Details

Who fancies a run to the 02 Arena (aka - Millenium Dome)?
We'll be starting the journey from South Mimms Services and taking in as many tunnels as we can on route. Not quite a Tunnel Run, but a good excuse to make a noise in a few tunnels all the same.

I have a table provisionally booked at The Harvester on Entertainment Avenue, which is inside the Arena, so no matter what the weather, we'll be warm and dry.
I will need to confirm numbers for the restaurant ASAP, so please reply promptly.

If you live closer to the venue and prefer not to join the convoy from South Mimms, please let me know on the thread and we will arrange to meet you at the Entrance.

Look forward to seeing you all.

It's been a while since I drove the GTA so I might join everyone for the run down if I can get away for a few hours.

Be good to have you along Tahir.

Did you want to meet us somewhere on route or are you trekking up to South Mimms?

It would be good to give the GTA a proper run as it's been sat on my drive for a while so the 30 miles to South Mimms shouldn't be a problem, though the traffic at that time of the day may be an issue.

You might also have nightmares Nick when you see how filthy it is, it looks like I've done a rally stage with it.

Filthy? Noooooo.

I don't think I've ever seen your car dirty. I may have to have counseling.

Hello Folks.....

Sorry, to rain on your parade, but have any one of you actually driven to the 02 Car park on a Friday night. I have, and it was a nightmare to get into the Car Park, and even WORSE, trying to get out of the place....

I would NEVER take my Car there again......

Depends what car park you use n13roy.

I regularly go there for seminars at the British Music Experience and I've never had an issue yet. In fact, a good friend of mine performed there on a Friday night a couple of months ago and despite the venue being rammed, Car Park 4 was empty.

I've booked there twice for Concerts now ( Nickelback and Santana ) and just could not get anywhere the Car Parks at all. Gave up in the end, and parked in the Bus Garage routes.....

No chance of me taking my lovely Alfa anywhere near that place again.........

BTW......

I thought the B.M.E. was a pretty poor exhibition, and not one I would visit / recommenend to anyone.....

Ah, thats where you're going wrong. Never drive in on a concert night.
You have to park in the smash and grab car park, if you're going to the Arena.

Let me know the next time you're going there and you can park at mine and get the train in instead.

We have learned by experience indeed Mr Dog.........

We live in Swansea ( South Wales )....and now get the Train up to Paddington, then get the Tube, or Thames Clipper to the 02, and have really enjoyed it every time without the Car. It's a fabulous Arena all round, and we now have 3 Concerts soon there.....

The Thames Clipper really makes it bit special as well.

Good selection there.

I can see you're in to your Hardcore Techno then.

I think I'd have to agree. It's a top venue to see an act and despite being a tent on a bit of wasteland, the sound's really good too.
