Dash for the Coast (and some sausages!) - 26th July 2009

Right folks time for a proper run

Our destination is West Wittering (via the Sussex Brewery in Emsworth for some lunch)

http://www.sussexbrewery.com/index.htm

Where they have a selection of over 20 differents varieties of sausage!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Run Details

Meet at Ockham Common Car Park just off the A3 / M25 Junction (that doggers favourite) at 9.00 for a 9.15am * Sharp Departure * changed now I've done the final route timings

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&so...04812&t=h&z=18

Then off for 100 odd glorious miles of some of the best roads across Surrey, Hampshire and Sussex that I could find

Those on the first part of the run will arrive at Petersfield Services off the A3 at 11.20

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&so...04812&t=h&z=18

Please can those meeting there try and be for 11.15 as we will be stopping for a fifteen minute reststop and then off to Goodwood

We will arrive at goodwood at this car park at 12.20

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&so...09624&t=h&z=17

And then stop for 10 minutes before proceeding to the sussex arms in emsworth to get there for 13.30

From there a quick sprint down to West Wittering but we should get there for about 15.00 depending on how many courses we have at the sussex

Route update and it's a blinder :

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=e...463684&t=h&z=9

TomTom and Garmin Itinerary files will be made available shortly as well.

Here we go folks as requested. It's an early start from Ockham but we've got a few stops to make and I want to be able to make the Sussex Brewery by lunchtime, plus the earlier we start the clearer the roads will be.

I've put the sussex brewery en route rather than after West wittering as looking at their website they only serve food til 2.30pm so probably best to do that first. then some nice pics by the seaside afterwards

Jon, I'd make the meet at the services at Petersfield. It was the initial start point on my map I think. Maccie D's car park, easy to find off the roundabout for the A3 / A272.

Well I'm off work that weekend, so it is a possibility that I may come along to play.
However, and it's a biggun (ooo-re), I shall have to consult the All-knowing-one, to see if we have plans that I am not aware of yet !

Because of the weather yesterday, and not being able to work in the garden, I did Petersfield to West Wittering. Great roads!! Took just about 1 hour 30 minutes.

I think I followed it pretty much!

I did cut through from A286 to B2141 by going through Binderton, it was not sign posted, but the satnav took me through there. On, the first bit of the 2141, there is some lovely new tarmac, really smooth .

I had to use way points on my Garmin, so I added a few extra points from your map.

As I've just found out I have to give the spider back in October It's only fair I get good use out of it

Modified Route,

from:Old Ln to:Ockham Ln to:Ripley Rd to:Ranmore Common Rd to:A29/Bognor Rd to:B2127/The St tounsfold Common Rd to:High Street Green to:A286/Bell Rd to:A286 to:51.008354,-0.839424 to:A272 to:A272 to:A285 to:Unknown road to:B2141 to:Unknown road to:

I ran the centre bit on the way up from goodwood the other day and decided there were some dodgy surfaces, too many towns and not enough NSL! So here's the new route, I haven't changed the bit from petersfield only to Emsworth just added a few roads at the start of the run including the fantastic ranmore common road and the forest green sections which are both crackers.

I'm going to give the sussex brewery a ring and book a table for about 1.15pm which gives us four hours to get there to allow for stop offs at Petersfield and Goodwood.

Can everyone who is having lunch just add "lunch" to their RSVP Please and it'll give me an idea of numbers.

Well it's not in sevenoaks this time Are you sure didn't put the Kent run.itn in by mistake last time round

Anyway the meet point is at the top of the event page, it's the car park off the A3 turning.. the itinerary file will take you straight to it.
