Goodwood FOS...

Hi All,

Ok, I'm heading to the FOS Next Sat .

Question is are there any good roads on/around the area. I'll be heading from South London (Croydon) and would like some nice A/B roads to drive on as opposed to the M23(?)

I've had a brief look on the aa route planner, that says i'll be on the A27 for some of the journey, is that a nice road?

Any road recommendations?

Thanks in Advance!

No.

I'd recommend M23 -> J11 (Pease Pottage) then cross country to Goodwood as per this route. The drive from Billingshurst through Petworth to Goodwood is especially nice, but there will be a lot of traffic heading for the FoS, so be prepared for a slow trip.

Re: Goodwood FOS...

Could do Jon ! What time are you heading off? I'm going with my old man, I'll just check with him to make sure he can make it early, I'm thinking the earlier the better?

PS, I was secretly hoping you would see this thread and would reply, seems like you know all the nice roads down South

Re: Goodwood FOS...

Excellent stuff Jon, Ill let you know a time later tonight, need to speak with the old man.. He is after a 159, 2.4 so I'm sure he would be interested to see (and hear) the performance of your 2.4 spider (if you bring it).

Jon - is there a way I can put that exact co-ordinate (of the roundabout) into my sat - nav?

I've just pmd you my mobile no. too.

Cheers,

Re: Goodwood FOS...

Ok mate, I'll try and find out and give you the reference, what sat-nav do you have?

Is your dad driving? If he isn't he can always jump in with me for a bit of the run down to see what the 2.4 spiders like.

Re: Goodwood FOS...

OK mate I'll plot out a route using my tom tom and send it to you with that roundabout marked in. Probably add a couple of roads as well round goodwood that just have to be driven

I'll now be there in a Kia as the spider won't be back from repairs in time! - Or I might borrow the girlfriends Beetle

Re: Goodwood FOS...

Nice to see you and meet your dad, Jerome ideal fathers day present

Was a cracking day out I left about 7 in the end, so many cars so little time!

That Dougie Lampkin is a legend for riding through Goodwood house on the Bike.

The 8C's were stunning, as were the girls on the alfa stand!

Re: Goodwood FOS...

I know the Alfa girls were amazing weren't they.. almost as good looking as the cars

I was pleasantly suprised that they seemed to know some general information about the cars too!

Yes a great day out and a chance to stretch the 145's legs on some fine roads. Coming back was great, was really clear - windows open, foot down

Roll on the Triangle!!!
