Hmmm Brands Hatch v Thruxton

Just joined the Cloverleaf club and looking at the track day schedule. A friend did the recent Thruxton track day and says it's the best track and more likely to get driving time than at Brands Hatch.

So 2 questions:
Does anyone agree with this statement or is Brands just as good or better? - it's a lot nearer to me as I live in Kent.
If Thruxton is better does anyone have any idea of when the next track day might be?

By the way this would be my first ever track day.

Thanks
Steve

Thruxton is faster. Brands is more challenging.

General concensus is that Brands is among the top drivers circuits in Europe, alongside Spa.

Thruxton is damn fast, and quite flat.

Horses for courses matey. Pay your money and take your choice.

Hmmm, have to say Brands, It's just got everything, history, exciting curcuit, challenge. Just unforgettable. but I am biased.

Thruxton may be easier for your first, as there's quite alot to get used to at Brands to get the best of it, but they are very helpful so if I had the choice gotta be Brands.

PS get track day insurance if you are using your own car....the old bill will never believe you pranged it just outside the circuit..

Thanks guys - now I'm even more confused.

On balance it sounds like Brands will be better - speed isn't everything . Just a little concerned that the old grey matter won't be able to cope with the instructions.

I won't be using my own car I hope. Want something a bit racier than a 1.9 diesel!

Have been to both tracks as a spectator they are both great tracks but i think if i had the choice as to the one i would prefer to drive it would be Brands it looks a lot more challenging
