Re: Run to Leeds Castle Classic Car Day

heard about this last night at my first trip to the Essex meet ... sounds like a good day out as long as the weather is fine

As to meeting place and time ... how is Bluewater for speed humps? A few of the 155 boys last night talked about coming along but can only meet up in a non speed hump location (rules out Lakeside) ... also might be worth going a little earlier as the place opens at 10ish

Re: Run to Leeds Castle Classic Car Day

We're going on the sunday, there's no speed humps at bluewater as far as I know, we used the car park next to john lewis last time to meet up before we went to Chatham for spring alfa day and I didn't see any then.

I'll be testing the route out in the next couple of weeks, so I'll make sure it's nice and flat and there's no humps on that either!

As for times I'm quite happy to start earlier, the roads will be more empty then

Re: Run to Leeds Castle Classic Car Day

Right got a route together which I need to try out, we would need to start at 9am, the route is about 90 miles (roughly 2.5 hours) as i've added a bit after some feedback including the military canal road that Alfabay (cheers )suggested which would get us there by about 11.30, does that sound OK to everyone?

Probable Route Below

from:Bluewater, Greenhithe to:B260/Main Rd @51.398460, 0.302030 to:7 Mile Ln/B2016 @51.282496, 0.350736 to:7 Mile Ln/A228 @51.237120, 0.380940 to:B2162 @51.197188, 0.449720 to:A268/Hawkhurst Rd @51.051629, 0.459409 to:B2086/Mounts Hill @51.070200, 0.

Re: Run to Leeds Castle Classic Car Day

I'll mail it to you as soon as I've created it mate

Don't know if I can do next weekend as I'm off to the goodwood breakfast meet (using the route we used before..shame ) and the surrey meet on sunday and the girlfriend wants the garden done as well so busy weekend, but but maybe the following one.

If you do run it this or next weekend, can you me give some feedback, bad surfaces, speed humps, scameras, unsuitable roads i.e. not suitable for low cars, and where you found them, then when I come to do it I can look at alternative roads and plot them as I go.

Cracking route, although it doesn't actually include the military canal road as of yet - I presume you're going to put that in later....

After Rye, go to Lydd via Camber - thats the Military Canal road, through Lydd, then onto the A259, up to the A259 /A2070 roundabout, then Snargate on the B2080 to Appledore then Tenterden.

Great work on the route, I'd pretty much go the same way and I'm a Man of Kent....
