Attention Kent and Essex Members! Nice Roads Needed!

Hi All,

Trying to put a run together starting at bluewater and going through kent down to leeds castle, can anyone recommend some nice roads?

when is the route to be used ?
ie, weekday or weekend ? time of day .
Do you want scenery, or motorway driving ?

I know parts of the A20 are nice depending on the time/day,
you could pick it up around Wrotham Heath, after using the A227 through Meopham.

BTW it has been a while since I have used these roads, so not sure on traffic usage these days.

How long in the future are you thinking about ?

The route is going to be used for the run down to Leeds castle on Sunday 10th August starting about 9am

What I'm looking for is non motorway, A and B roads really, twisty if possible and not too uneven.

The A227 sounds like a good start as does part of the A20 I'll give them a try thanks

if you get down that far the canal road from Tenterden thru Appledore and on to Rye is a beauty,when you get to Rye you're ten mins from the beach at Camber Sands

Oh yes, the military canal road is the muts nuts, drive down the A2070(fast straight single carriageway road) from Ashford to Brenzett then left at the roundabout, right to LIR kart track and Lydd airport, from here its twisty stuff on the canal road.

All around Appledore/military canal towards Rye is great driving.

Also, over the new bridge to sheppy can be invigorating (yes, I know even heading towards the island!....)

I know some cracking roads in Essex.

Yeah spot on, twisty, flat, fast, RYE is beautiful, park up near the chippy and walk in. Camber is great too, a really good trip that would stand up on it's own if the summer. There's a couple of level crossings though, ready to remodel your sump if you aren't careful, but well worth it.

from:Bluewater, Greenhithe to:B260/Main Rd @51.398460, 0.302030 to:7 Mile Ln/B2016 @51.282496, 0.350736 to:7 Mile Ln/A228 @51.237120, 0.380940 to:B2162 @51.197188, 0.449720 to:A268/Hawkhurst Rd @51.051629, 0.459409 to:B2086/Mounts Hill @51.070200, 0.

Just added in the military canal road
