Well Happy AOSC Goes Twittering

Greetings, we have gone all twitter, and added a Twitter account for more instant updates on events in South Central. This will enable us to upload live updates during events this year. This is a trial to see how this works, and see how the wider AO can benefit. Seem's fitting being the new boys of AO to try this out don't you think?

Those who have got Twitter can follow us on @AOSouthCentral Those who don't, why not try it on for size. It can't hurt can it?

Since logging onto Twitter in the spring of 2010 I have been amazed by the number of Alfisti and AO'ers on-line using Twitter. Some of these AO'ers I have met by accident on Twitter rather than through AO! This got me thinking, there must be more we can do to use Twitter to help grow, and bring members using different mediums of communication.

During 2011 Twitter will be used more frequently on AO, and making better use of Facebook as well to promote the Club, and it's regions. There is already an AOSC Facebook page. Over the next few months I will be looking at this, and updating this more regularly with content.

Don't worry, there will be no annoying side bar or tab that will explode across your screen on AO.

Marko.

Now on Twitter

Do you have an account on Twitter Chardy?

We'll try and use the FB account more, as well as the main account on FB in the future.

I do have one, set it up last week but have to log in to view it which seems a bit pointless (isn't it just like texting but you see everyone elses ??). I haven't got a flashy phone so don't get it on that. But I have FB on most of the time.

I find it great, as I follow mainly people to twit car related stuff. Amazing what conversations you can have with complete stringers about cars. Best yet for me was a chat with 12 people about q cars.

140 characters is a great way of removing waffle from conversations. I thought I'd never get it, but this nearly 40 yr old has mastered and enjoying twitter.

Oh, and now I have become the official twitter for AO
