Oxfordshire area / north of this region
I'm really aware that in 9 months I have only managed to get one meet in the Oxfordshire area, and took on the Auto Italia meet in Gaydon last Sept. There appears to be a small group of you, who attend events. Should I be speaking to Jonspiderman and seeing if we can get a Rep? Do you want a Rep, and do any of you want to take this role on?
Just a thought, let me know what you think.

Do we smell abandoned already, nobody wants the country boys
I don't think OX is big enough on its own to warrant a seperate rep so it could involve re-working other areas to make it worthwhile. This then means some other areas may have to amalgamate to create another area and they may not want to leave the area they are already in.
I know we are on a bit of a limb and I'm probably one of the furthest away in the OX postcodes so I'm even less likely to go to small events that are on the coast just because of the distance involved.
I can also understand that we may be lower on the list for arranging meets as it would also mean a lot more travelling for you guys nearer the coast so not wanting to be someone who just sits back and whines I won't bring you a problem without a solution as well. How about a multi county meet in say Newbury?. That would be about an hours travel for most of us guys and I would have thought it would be about the same travel time for you guys as well.
Have you ever noticed? Anybody going slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac
The great question....which I have not been able to answer...is, What does a woman want?

Sorry, I don't mean just the Oxfordshire area, but a rep to cover the northern side of the region. I just happen to directly mentioned Oxfordshire.
Hants/Dorset/IOW/South Wilts I can cover easily. Considering this region started with a conversation with Seb and Wonderwall @ Brooklands, then a few runs down to the south coast with Jon we have come a very long way from nothing. I'm wondering if we can get more going elsewhere?
As an alternative, if one of you has an idea to have an event near to you, let me know and we can put this in the events calendar.
Live in Berkshire, Dorset, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Oxfordshire or Wiltshire?
Take a look HERE

You'll probably get a few people from central / south Warwickshire coming down for events in Oxfordshire, it's much easier to get to than West Bromwich or other locations in the West Mids.

I would have volunteered to be "north" south central rep if I thought I had enough time to do it.
If things were different I would have liked to take the task on.

I live adjacent to Reading. Not had the best record when trying to setup a Berkshire meet (2 were in Surrey , 2 in Berkshire and 2 abandoned)! Might be worth a try pooling Berkshire, Oxford and maybe a bit of hamps and Bucks?
Would volunteer myself, but am a bit of a numpty

I have a lot of free time online in between playing Mod on the 145 forum, id be happy to help, allthough i do agree that there are so few of us that we can normally just sort it out amoung ourselves without the need for a designated rep. but if you need person to fill the slot im sure i could fit it in Let me no if you'd like me to help.

If you want to arrange some meets among yourselves, that'll be great. You'll see we have a mini meet arranged by one of the Fareham members. As I've always said, meets and events don't have to just be what I want, it's about everyone in the region, and having a good time. I would just like to get the whole region more active, and knowing there are a few of you up there who enjoy going to meets that will be a good move forward.

Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire & Berkshire would make a good small region. Also you could extend Eastwards and take in Bedfordshire & Hertforshire as well. Nothing much happens in those regions at the moment, they are supposed to be in South East but most of those meets are either in London or around the otherside, near Kent area..

Just to let you know I'm lurking watching this thread as a Berkshire AO'er. I would be interested in attending meets and most of the SE stuff is a bit far away from me, as is some of the S Central stuff. So if there are things happening in the Ox, Bucks, Berks area I'd be interested in taking part.
Cheers,
Nigel

Blast round the countryside and then stop at a nice pub in the middle of nowhere for a pint, bowl of chips and a natter? That'd do for me anyhow

OK, keep me posted - what Dan suggests would be good. But will support anything if I'm around and can get to it.
Cheers,

I'm up for it. The south coast is a little too far for your regular meets.

I was meaning about re-organising the regions - but sod it, chips & a pint will do for now
Right then folks - when & where?
Who's interested and where are you based - we should aim for as central a location as possible.
