I would recommend Red dot racing in Watford.

They have a rolling road so can give before and after power/torque printouts, and check your fuelling is correct.

Someone who just comes out and plugs in a laptop won't be doing a proper job.

There is also a place in Kingston Bagpuize called Owen developments, they also have a rolling road and may also be able to help.

Thats not true the best place to map a car is out on the road using a wide band lambda probe to get the fueling right. Live mapping the car as it is driven is the best way to get everything spot on.

I understand that live mapping on the road is also possible, however my comment was aimed at another well know company that does remaps by turning up at your house, plugging in a laptop, downloading the map then going for a 5 min drive after disconnecting the laptop to see if the map worked.

Live mapping is only possible on certain ECU's, this would require using something like the OLS300 connected directly into the ECU(not OBD, to do live mapping you cannot do this via OBD as the checksum calculations have to be updated constantly if you're making changes and the communications speed over CAN aren't fast enough for this and the ECU would shut down whilst driving which obviously is very dangerous.

Just got home from having a remap on my GTA at AHM. Unfortunately, due to the weather I haven’t managed to really try it yet. (will post more later)

Jim, did you have before and after power runs done? Would be interesting to know what it made... did you get a simple flash or did they spend time trying different settings?

Keen to get mine done in Jan so any info you can give would be great...

Cheers,

Chris

yea we did do before and after power runs. it was about 258bhp@6200 before and its now at 274bhp@6300. there was also a really good increase in torque, but i dont have the numbers in front of me now.

it was as you say a 'simple flash' but adie can make small changes if you want.

I still need some dry roads!!!!!

That's a pretty decent gain, interesting that you get it as low as 6300 as well as most of the 3ltrs in GTV's I've seen seem to peak much higher up... but that's good for the GTA lump.

258BHP sounds very good to start, is the engine std or have you made any other tweaks?
