Hi,
Anyone from around the Bournemouth area? Can't say I've ever seen another GTA down here though I've heard there are a couple about. Any meets around here soon?

I work in Hamworthy, Poole. No GTA, though. Sorry about that. Does it torque-steer like a *******?

They certainly do when you really nail it - you do get used to it and it's part of the fun.
BTW, Southampton here.

Re: Bournemouth
Im based in Hamworthy/Poole aswell. GTAs are quite rare in Dorset. Ive only seen one and it was a 156GTA at the Alfa garage parked up (MERIDIEN MILANO - Wallisdown Road). Only 147GTA ive ever seen was in Perth, Australia lol. Im still yet to see another blackline aswell. One good thing is these cars arent all over the place, unlike BMWs and Audis.

Yes, somewhat. Got caught out the other day in a straight line on a slightly uneven road.

If anyones near Lyndhurst any time there's an Alfa 8c at the Ferrari/Maserati garage at the moment. Looks superb!!
Can't remember the last time i saw any GTAs round here, just bloody audis n bmws clogging up the outside lane of the wessex way!!

I blast through Lyndhurst reasonably often. Don't work that way but it makes a good run out through the forest.
There was an 8C in Meridien Bournemouth a couple of months or so ago. Red with the nice fitted luggage in the rear. Great looking car: I only wish...
Anybody for St Leonards hotel Wednesday? Might drive out there if the weather's not too foul. Went a few months ago and intended to sign up with AROC but never got around to it. About time I did.

Re: Bournemouth
This will be the AROC Wessex region regular monthly meet-up. Friendly bunch of chaps and quite active.
If it's not too bad on the road, I'll venture out there provided that schoolwork doesn't overtake me from the bad weather closure today and tomorrow.
Damn it. Alfaowner does not permit links to AROC so the link above does not work. Just use Google for "AROC Wessex"

Thanks - great Idea but not this time...... I need another thing to go out and enjoy myself at like a hole in the head! Too many toys, not enough time as it is! Maybe when it's warmer....
On my way to Brockenhust today I spotted 2 black 159s, a great looking red Brera, a black 156 and another 147... Hi all!
Cheers Phil

Re: Bournemouth
Hi All,
I'm in Southampton, an Alfa newbie, with a 159TI (black).
Will look up the Wessex AROC details and try and come along soon.
Might see you all on the roads around the forest soon and look in the window of the Meridien garage at Lyndhurst quite often !
For anyone into rallying, can also recommend the Sunseeker Rally at Bournmouth at the end of February (see google Sunseeker rallye). The Sommerly House stages on the Saturday are very good. Just not many Alfa's around....

Re: Bournemouth
I live in Lyndhurst too,
Often see a silver 156 with stickers on the sides, often wandered if the owner is on the forum?
I work for Meridien, the 8C in question is the third one so far that we have had imported from the factory. Not had a chance to drive one yet tho, Meridien are sensible enough not to let me loose in one
