Horrific. On the road, bad things happen quickly. They had no chance.

that is at the bottom of fields hill.

To stay on the main road he would have had to make a right hander into a left hander onto the bridge in the back ground - which he obviously couldnt do at that speed(brakes cooked after coming down fields hill).
Continuing straight takes you down the off ramp into that intersection...

And presumably all that to avoid the Marianhill Toll Gate....

The traffic cops need to stop these trucks on roads like the M4, M13 etc and if they dont have a delivery note to a local address - fine them properly, like R50k properly.

AAh Okay, that explains the speed he came through that intersection, not familiar with the area.
Ja the cops need too.

Tragic.

The guy in the Jetta never knew what hit him, which is possibly a blessing - last thing he did was watch the robot change from orange and let out his clutch.

I did an advanced driving course, and one of the many things that they teach you is to double check at a green robot, BEFORE pulling off.

I always look twice. Just to make sure. But even then, that one day you forget to look, or can't react quick enough... so sad.
