Alfa Romeo to hit China

Seems AR will expand to China for sales and manufacturing of some Fiat vehicles for now. So hopefully with some labour savings, we might in 5 years see AR's costing less.

Quote:
Sergio Marchionne, Fiat Group’s CEO, announced the company’s plans to bring the Alfa Romeo to China.

“The Chinese market is still interesting, it has just become more competitive and more complex after a moment of great expansion. After the USA, the next stop in the global relaunching of Alfa Romeo will be China. We have not yet decided if we will start production here, but certainly we are of a mind to bring the label (here),” said Marchionne.

Marchionne brought the news in a press conference held in Changsha, in southern China, where he also announced the launching of the new facility where the company will manufacture the Fiat Viaggo.

Nice...although I don't think this cost saving will be passed onto the customer, as with any product, savings in opperations and manufacturing of goods is usually posted as profit and not at all passed onto the customer!

Just think, with the advancements in technology and methodologies of how to make things quicker and more cheaper, history/trends shows us that product prices just go up, and the inevitable claim of producing something only gets more expensive lol...

Ja, much like the inevitable food price hikes despite the decrease in international & national crude oil prices. It's all a vicious economical/politically circle.

If one country's economy farts, the rest smell and get the effects of it.
Economics became so interweaved and crawled into another's butt, that they sometimes think one guy's arse is someones face!

I just hope AR will expand more into the entry level market like in the 70-80's, but staying close to their Sportivo Cuore.
Cause really, does everyone need all that gadgetry, high specs and sophistication that soar the prices?

Let's us just demand a stripped out Mito GTA with some more carbon fibre, and perhaps some ''Audi ASF - audi space frame'' tech incorporated

All in good time I suppose, as most investors do tread carefully in this volatile market, and especiallly on the dark continent...
