Att guys with old cars: booster delete question

My one booster's master cylinder is problematic. I would like to delete my boosters and run a closed system by linking the pipes. Do brake shops make double-ended female fittings that can make this possible till I can refurb my booster?

Just bought the fittings now and dropped the problematic booster by Giorgio.

The fittings cost R200 for both while the boosters cost R1200 each to refurb! Definitely an incentive to delete the boosters, but I'll put them back on later so it's easier for my wife to drive.

Hi El I'm also considering doing it on my amante. How does it look and which thread size did you ask for?

Hey Nicus. I have the twin Bonaldis where the thread pitch is 3/8 x24 DIN (double flare) and the pipe is 3/16.
The pedal is going to be slightly stiffer, but deleting the boosters is going to give me space to move my window washer bag to and install an oil catch tank.

I also have the 2 bonaldi boosters. The boosters on mine is also kaput so It's really not that bad Or I got used to it's stiffness
Oil catch tank? From tappet cover breather hose?
I can get both kits without shipping for R1300 if your interested.

Ja, from breather pipe. Saw some decent kits for about R600. One old pipe (from rear brakes) was too rigid to bend and broke Taking it off is not going to be fun.

A thing of beauty

My one booster R1200 later, but looks worth it.
I ran the car with one booster connected to the front brakes and the rear brakes' pipes connected through a 3/8 x 24 female coupler. Test drove it over the weekend at progressively higher speeds and it seems as if there were no adverse effects in terms of balance or lock-up.
I also bought a brake and clutch bleeding kit at Midas for R60 and it was a revelation! No having to make the wife breakfast before she reluctantly pumped the pedal!
So, in sum, gentlemen - it seems safe to run one booster at a time (I would suggest the front be boosted) and save up to replace the errant one.

Thanks for the info El. Was thinking about the same, but were able to service both boosters with kit from AK.

Hi El.
Can you please post pics of the fittings? I'm going the booster delete route whilst boosters get re-conned.

I was going to do this on my GTV, but then I realised something, my dad drives my car and can't even use the middle pedal when towing, just think what my car will look like with a deleted booster!!!
