All weather mode saved my Giulietta today

So driving back home today a storm was brewing over JHB/Centurion/PTA..

There was a light drizzle and a few cars in front of me on the highway... We were probably doing 100km/h as we just got onto the highway

I usually dont drive in All weather mode.. Its mostly Dynamic. Something told me put the car in All weather, you gonna need it. I did it and not a minute too soon..

The next thing I know the car infront of me hits a pool of water and aqua plains and lightly hits a barrier next to the highway, before I could react I hit that pool of water too...

I could feel the wheels slip and the car heading a little sideways (and in my minds eye I see myself hitting the barrier too), the next moment I hear the traction control kicking in very strongly and the steering wheel poking me a little and pulling the wheels straight... And with a big sigh of relief I remained in my lane and escaped unscathed...

I wonder if I was in Dynamic whether the traction control would have kicked in, in time!!

Bloody love this car

Wish I could explain how it sounds... Sounds similar to what the GTA sounds like every time I pull away and the car wants to send me into the closest tree it can find...

Will try and record it next time the G is about to aqua plain..

Had a similar experience when I bought my 1.9JTS 159 as well.
The tire’s was badly warn a nice stream of water in a turn resulted in the worst breakaway I have ever experienced and the car simply rectified the situation in the blink of an eye.

My opinion it would have done exactly the same in Dynamic maybe even faster.
All weather limits the power to the wheels, delays the throttle response and probably decreases the amount of boost. Maybe it sharpens the eQ2 reaction but the rest will basically work the same.
