This is the problem with the sales of Giulietta's!

I go there...

I say, condition.

VW offered me 190k for my g5 GTi as is if I buy a G6 GTi...

Alfa Romeo don't worry...R140k for my G5 GTi...

lol...

One good thing did come from this though, I found out that you

a)can modify your exhaust you'll just lose the exhuast waranty portion!!!
b)can get software/remapped because the people won't be looking for traces when you bring in the car...yes...that's what they said!

But guess where you can get it remapped...lol, ATC!

From that we can conclude that the VW dealership has R50K extra profit in a G6 to Over Allow.. Shocking truth I know. The guys at Alfa would get a trade cover from VW and then offer you the amount they were offered.. just for fun ask VW how much to buy your G5 outright. R140K is my guess.

The PTA dealer told me the same thing about remapping the software.. Said they wont be looking for it when they service the car...

Alfa paid me more for my VW Polo than VW were willing to give me...

An didnt know selling 150 in 3 months was a problem...

lol Privately i can let it go for low to high R180k's with the mods.

nope...people don't use piggyback "chips" anymore, well on VAG cars what I know of, its all OBD2 port tuning now, so they edit the parameters of the current ECU...ie, B T F...meaning, Boost Timing Feuling, they increase these parameters for more power and also keeping in mind the limitations they all represent. I'm not sure how this PiNo ou did it, maybe he still uses a "chip" if so, yes they'll find it, but via OBD2 port, if they don't look for boost tweaks or feul tweaks they won't find it.

Alfa Romeo Giulietta QV - 19" 159Ti wheels - BC Racing Dodge Dart coilovers - SuperSprint turbo back exhaust - Novitec Powerjet 3 - Novitec 15mm Spacers - HID's - Short shift kit - Evoms CAI

Alfa Rommeo GTV - Raggazon - Unichip - GTA cams - GTA clutch/Flywheel - BMC filter - Q2 diff - Cup Kit - SOLD

Alfa Romeo 156 GTA Sportwagon "Swagon" - Bilstein shocks - BMC CDA

Lance you can pick up a flash faster than a chip.. the ECU on the Alfa has a write back date. Any time the ECU is flashed the date stamp changes. if u look at Fiat ECU scan its one of the first thing it shows u

Aha! Thus, REVO map/file is not a process of flashing...these flashing units can be traced yes!

But why does Fiat ECU do this? Why would they keep record? on VAG a file is loaded...this file only infiltrates those BTF settings...so you'd actually have to go into the files and look at BTF to see if its changed from stock...clever really. So, you say, even though the dealerhips say, "don't worry these guys never realy look" they can actually see the 1st time the car goes on diag coz this then comes up?

As for the Trade in on the GTI at vw some manufacturers actually give a incentive to trade up in the same family which could also explain the higher offer.
Land rover and Merc definitely did it or might even still be doing it.
Unfortunately Alfa especially our friends at Arnold do not want to give good trade ins on Alfas. They offered a clients wife R35 000 for her perfect 2001 spider when she wanted to trade it in on a Mito.
Her husband gave her the money for the Spider instead, so now she drives a Mito and he drives the Spider.

GTV V6 Turbo, Q2, Eibach, Koni, and lots more
916 2.0 Spider what have I done
Triumph Trophy 1200 to counter the fuel prices.

On my cousin's Audi A4 2.0T, Audi searched for software when his turbo blew. They didn't find any because he had none, yet they still hassled before replacing the turbo.

BTW: He owned two A4's, both blew turbos, twice each...
