Turbos Gone

Picked the car up from the garage today after getting new wishbone, cv boot and two new tyres for the NCT.
Anyway on the way to the test center i decide to pass out a few cars and suddenly no power and blue smoke everywhere

Think i will sell them, along with anything else of value on the car, by the time this and the clutch is fixed and road tax paid for the year i'll be out the price af a half decent car!
Time to cut my losses i think!

Dont know if i can be bothered TBH, am I right in saying these turbos cant be reconditioned? Pretty sure i remember reading that somewhere

I'm in another 156 this time after my 2tr got written off.....1.6 now....i know,not much grunt...but i have to say i'm getting used to her !!!

Don't leave the Alfa family....you'll regret it !!!!

Fella in Laois in Mountrath does recons for 500 euro or so with a warraunty.

Thanks lads, Damien I'll keep in mind that place that does recons, but for the moment i've defected to the darkside and bought an A4.

I will be back in an Alfa at some stage though, and unless someone takes the 156 as a full car (cant really be bothered taking all the bits off it) I'll probably just hang onto it and keep an eye out for a turbo somewhere

Well shes gone now, guy cam all the way from Kilkenny last night to pick it up!
While I was glad to get it sold and everything I think im really going to miss this car, and will have to get back in an Alfa sooner or later (hopefully sooner)

was he going to put it back on the road? i assume is had it towed all the way. He must have liked Alfas a lot if he was willing to travel that distance for a 156 with a knackered turbo and a clutch starting to fail

good to know... being an Alfa i wonder how long until he starts regretting it ive reached that road, only briefly i must say after i destroyed the driveshaft the other day

Ha, dont think I've ever actually regretted buying it, let me down a few times though but never got to the point where I regretted buying it, even when the turbo went!
I will miss it, though some hoonage in the mx5 over the weekend will hopefully sort that
