All Ireland Alfa Meet location suggestions

Heya all,

Seen as some people are being demanding (Techie) I'd said I set up a thread first and see what people's opinons and ideas are on this.

And throw out some dates too.

Damien.

I suppose it will really depend on how many people from each area are interested & will actually turn up, there's no point in having it in Dublin for example if no one from that end of the country is going to turn up, Just my 2 cents

Re: All Alfa Meet location suggestions

Thats why it would be best to have it in the Midlands as everyone will have to put in an effort and travel to get to it !!!!

I wouldn't be willing to drive all the way down to cork from cavan, but yeah, I'd do the midlands provided I'm free from work

Re: All Alfa Meet location suggestions

Wherever suits me. Hopefully ill have the car fully functional soon enough.

I reckon wherever the location is though we need more than just good roads and spots for a couple of photos as we'll probably be looking at a couple of hours driving just to get there.

Wonder if there's anything interesting happing in the midlands over the next couple of months that could be a distraction?

Re: All Alfa Meet location suggestions

Is it the 'Hodson Bay' Hotel in Athlone (on the lake) that you're thinking of ? Athlone is EVEN MORE central than Mullingar

And I know it's a trampish holiday spot but somewhere like Courttown (Wexford) is coastal and between Dublin & Cork. Might make for nice pictures too.

Stayed there recently with the family, not too bad and has a huge car park. If they got notice could block off an area!!!

Re: All Alfa Meet location suggestions

What kind of date range are we looking at? Reason I ask is, if it's reasonably far away it might motivate me to get the 75 up and running for it.
