Re: genuine alfa owner made to feel a fool
Sorry to hear of your woes.
I guess you have choices....
either speak in private (politely ) to those who you feel aggrieved you and if you get a resolution that way then good....
or if not PM a mod/admin for a discussion about it.....
or just let rip in here and let the AO Jury decide
Seriously, the first two options are best....
And don't be put off from returning, there's been other peeps who have left after a disagreement and that is quite sad

Re: genuine alfa owner made to feel a fool
I woulden't have thought there are many people on this forum that would deliberatly upset another user, high poster or not.Sometimes things written in jest could be taken the wrong way.But if you are going to start a thread on any given subject you should really explain, besides i will talk to anyone about Alfa or any other make and not care who they have had a run in with

Re: genuine alfa owner made to feel a fool
i loath it when high posters get fingers pointed at them. I'm a sort of high poster, and I always think 'shi5, does he mean me?'.
If I've upset someone, just tell me. I'm big enough and by jimny ugly enough to say, 'oh, have i?' and take a good look at what I've done wrong to upset anyone. I wouldn't in a million years upset someone - I might disagree with them, but not upset them.
I think names should be named; then we can reflect a little.

I had a look at the previous posts... nothing to go on there either, unless I missed it.
Or the high-posting offender is a Moderator and deleted it!

Re: genuine alfa owner made to feel a fool
Its one thing to make allegations of being made to look a fool.
Ite entirely another to put the matter beyond doubt by being evasive when genuine offers of restitution are made which are ignored.
I've always said that by and large, and compared with some other car groups Alfa people are generally nice people and i see that reflected on this forum as well. That does not mean that from time to time intemperate things are said or that people don't take the mick from time to time. That my friend, is life.
let us know what upset you and I'l send my missus round to sort out the offender. Can't say fairer than that.

Don't worry about it in the slightest scaligeri mate. : So long as you are not being shot at, burgled, stitched up, or they are after the missus', no worries. : On second thoughts, in my case, not too sure regarding the missus' bit.

Re: genuine alfa owner made to feel a fool
i don't own an Alfa anymore. I grew up with them and my folks had more Alfas than I've had hot dinners. I had a GTV6 (RWD) for five years. I love Alfas to bits and feel i have as much right to enjoy this site as existing Alfa owners.
No, i'm not a 'genuine' Alfa owner - but i am a genuine alfa nut. So i'm sticking around here, lol.

Yep - I've looked at S's posts too and can't see anything.
From experience I know I have unwittingly upset people on occasion but it was never meant and we soon sorted it out when they got in touch.
FFS - tell us - WHAT HAPPENED?

Exactly G!
This ooo, a high poster is bullying me' thing is generally the last resort of the person who can't actually think of any real arguments for their point of view, so turns to personal sniping at the person they're disagreeing with.
What the hell difference does someones post count make to the opinions that they hold? Bugger all, that's what.
As for this thread, I haven't the faintest what it's about, but Scaligeri should give us at least a small explanation - the wording of the original post makes it sound like he's having a go at the whole forum.

"You know, sometimes the world seems like a pretty mean place."
"That's why animals are so soft and huggy."

Re: genuine alfa owner made to feel a fool
Scali, so are you saying then mate, that 2 members of Alfa Owner tried to rip you off by one of them saying 'That car's only worth £500!' and then the other going 'I'll give you £600!' or something? When it is actually worth £50,000?
It is still a bit confusing mate, I want to understand and try to help but I don't really get it.
Can you explain it again in a bit more detail please?
Cheers,
Darren

Thats what I thought Darren, but am still a little confused. If that is the case, thats a bit harsh, but often when money comes into things a lot of principles go out of the window unfortunately.
