Right, MrsChris has decided that for her next phone she wants an iPhone 4S, I've continually said no as I believe they are overpriced rubbish ... but today I thought as a surprise for xmas I'd buy her one ...
... so at lunchtime today I thought I'd just pop down to the Apple Store in Covent garden and pick on up ... or so I thought.
Now take into account this is the first time I have entered the Apple store because from the outside they look like pretensious soul vaccums filled with "hipsters" (the people rather than the clothing) ... so I walk in a quickly survey the surroundings looking for something resembling a shelf with iPhones on or some sort of customer service desk to go to ... hmmm no luck all that I can see is various apple products nailed to the ridiculously spacious desks.
so I went up to one of the oiks and asked him how I do I buy something in this shop? so he asks what do I want (at which point I'm thinking I've cracked it

), I explain that I think Apple products are rubbish but MrsChris wants an iPhone 4S 16Gb ... at which point he gestures to the queue outside the door of people waiting for them ...
Seriously??? WTF??? they've been out for about 6 weeks now and people are still queuing ... he explained that I can go online at 9pm tonight to the apple website and I should be able to reserve one to be picked up tomorrow, I asked if he could reserve one for me now to pick up tomorrow and apparently he can't
I'm just completely bemused by this approach to selling their products ... I suppose in reality this is more of a WTF than a rant ... but I'm setting this up for when the reservation fails at 9pm tonight
