Alfa Drivers

They're no better than the rest really.

Especially the blonde, mature (exceedingly unattractive) woman
in the Etna black Mito this morning who insisted sitting 10cm
off my bumper for most of the trip.

I was already doing 60 in a 50 zone so her car must have been
reading at least 70.

Hint: Next time, just ignore the double white lines and go past
you rancid old *****.

Also, get someone to explain B&M as it makes driving like a ****
safer.

I had to apply the anti-tailgating counter-measures (spraying the windscreen
so it sprays the car behind) 3 times and she still didn't fully
get the message. (Backing off but creeping back a few minutes later...)

Trouble with braking is they are such bad drivers around here
they'd actually hit you.

I would go so far as to suggest that the actuarial tables of insurance companies would suggest they're WORSE.

Case in point. My new car, (which can't be named ), has an agreed insurance value that is approximately 8 times higher than the agreed value of the Alfa GT. The big difference is that the premium is just a little over twice than that of the GT. The new one has approx. twice the HP of the GT V6 also. I'm not complaining mind you.

Sorry Nev, but if she was sitting on your bumper at 60, then she was also doing 60.
If she was doing 70 she would have made contact (pedantic ?).

Exactly !

If someone is tailgating you then let them past... simple... you are holding them up if they want to speed let them get on with it ... You won't get to your destination any quicker by letting them sit on your bumper.. in fact if you indulge in other antics like flicking on your brake lights etc then you may induce road rage in an already badly behaving ignorant motorist which may result in an accident ...

let them through ...

Nev measures his speed by the more accurate GPS ... so his statement is factually correct, his GPS stated 60 which means that her speedo must be reading 70

So considering they were driving along double white lines how exactly was he going to "let her past"

OK Chris, you will have to explain why I am a muppet.
Where does Nev say that he was measuring his speed using gps?
Where does it say that if his gps says 60, the other car must say 70?

I have re-read the rant and I cannot find this information.

Look forward to your help with this.

Mick.

It doesn't.

But for the record I use a Coyote Eagle GPS system to measure speed.
The speedometer consistently reads ~10kph higher than the more accurate GPS.

Obviously my post wasn't that illogical as at least one
person "got it".

Boy, the Rant Room is becoming a tough crowd to please.

I think I had black boxers on that day, if you need any more info.

Nev, I believe you.
My point is , how was I supposed to know that from your post?
Did I deserve the muppet comment for not knowing an anal fact about you.
And, I have always been hard to please, its not a new thing.

Mick.

Having just read your other rant, I'm delighted to announce that this rant is a superbly crafted tale of woe, and a generous sharing of one of life's curve-balls.

And for that, I shall generously award a mark of 6/10. Well done.

(I'm a hard marker. This is praise indeed )

Perhaps Muppet was a bit harse (although the term for me is light hearted) if you have taken significant offence then I would like to apologise for this.

I didn't know that Nev uses a GPS (although I do know that he is a gadget king), however it is a fairly simple extrapolation of his post that he MUST have a more accurate measurement of speed give then he stated he was "traveling at 60" which must mean that the person behind had a "reading of 70".

The obvious reason for her tailgating him has been omited, though I suspect it must have something to do with Onions/Garlic
