Re: Bloody colds

Corvonia throat spray mate.
Use it quick as possible and it
stops a sore throat turning into a cold.

Vit C and gargling with dispersible aspirin
if it's already got a hold of you.

I find vicks first defence pretty good. As soon as you start getting the burning in the back of your nose or throat, give it a spray up your nose and most times it stops the cold developing.

Its also good if you already have a cold as it helps keep your nose clear of snot.

Re: Bloody colds

My kids have each taken their timing to a new level with illnesses. For the last 4 weekends one of them has been ill some way or another. Think if it carries on i will work through the weekends as well. Better than being at home with ill people.

Thanks symonh2000. I bought some of this on the way home last night and used it as soon as I got out of the shop, this combined with lemsip max strength capsules seems to have gone quite a way to sorting it out. Last night it had gone to my sinuses and was very painful, but this morning I feel like it is on its way out, not bad after a day!

Cheers

That's because kids are breeding grounds for disease ... don't get me started on the "live stock" that they farm ...

Re: Bloody colds

My girlfriend used to work in an old folks home. I used to get a cold nearly every month as she was obviously bringing the bugs home.

They never seemd to affect here though which I didn't think was very fair.

She's probably already caught them before so she's most probably immune to them where as your not.

Re: Bloody colds

What SymonH advised. First Defence, leave for about ten minutes, then use the Neil's sinus irrigation system, deploying the gentle pressure flush, and then putting thumb over opposite nostril, to the one you are squirting the fluid up to achieve a vacuum back suck! Good cough and spit, allow the nasal drip to stop a dripping, with a few good blows. Job done. Well sort of.
