im gonna buy a bike in the next couple of days... and im seriously considering a CBR or R6.. on the other hand, wouldnt be wonderful to have a bike parked next to my alfa... hmm lets say a red ducati ? [going for the 749S]

i wanna stick to Italians!
but its a big difference from the Japs

I am sooooo jealous i would love a bike, i would be strawberry jam in a few days! Would definately go for a jap bike probally a gsx-r you dont have to stick to Italian, you dont eat lasagne and pasta every day? Do you??? Dont be bias your bike and you got to live with. Go steady

CBR is a fantastic all rounder, the R6 is more of a race orientated machine (but not so much as the GSX-R)

IMO the GSX-R is a weekend warrior's bike, the bike equivalent of a Subaru Impreza - very good bike, superb performance, but more than a little cliche'd.

When I get my big bike I'm thinking of a Triumph Daytona (although I DO have a yearning for naked bikes like the Ducati monster or a bandit or the new Hornet)

Way too much choice in the bike world Whichever you go for you'll get a decent machine.

Friend of mine has a Honda CBR 1100 and he was trying to tell me that it's a bike that encourages you to go slowly …

go with the cbr mate,it does everything you'll want it to do, and some!If i had the choice i'd have a ducati as a second bike,check insurance quotes as well,the ducati will probably be a couple of groups higher than the honda

A slow motorbike thats a moped isn't it? Pretty pointless having a slow bike but then i see its a 1100 so not that slow. My first car only had 903cc! Cheap motoring, cheap looks ... yep everything was cheap. Happy days

im after a CBR600RR 2006 actually.

my cousin bought a CBR600RR '07, my mate a GSX-R 600 K8 and another friend a GSX-R 1100 '04 so its a lot of pressure from the Jap club :P

I have a Honda Deauville, so i am a traitor, I have been very tempted by a Ducatti, and if i was buying my current bike right now, i think i would go Italian

BF, my mate has a CBR600RR and claims the same, funnily enough he got caught speeding last night!

Get the Duke or Aprillia

Nothing beats the sound of a Duke imo

Have you considered a ZX6-R? Very good bike, on the 9 myself, prefer it to the blade but I will conceed that Honda's make a stonking bike

Has to be GSXR all the way, I had one and it was probably the most fun machine I've ever driven/ridden ... yes definitely a weekend warrier machine, if you're looking for something cheap to run then forget it, MPG was the same as my car, and a rear tyre would only last about 4k (at £150 a pop that is quite expensive)


Hate to say it ... but bigger smiles than my Alfa <- yes even bigger than that!!!!

The B4, first with the 6 pot calipers and had the full fat engine. I prefer heavier bikes so the B4 suits my riding style a bit better than the newer bikes

A bike isn't a car, it may not be italian but it's damned nice. A good choice if you ask me...
