Criticising this abuse of legislation is not a criticism of our police or armed forces (by me anyway) so please don't take is as such.
I should hope not, but just be cause we agree on this dont mean we're gonna be swapping spit in the shower...

You are absolutely right I know nothing about Foxybrown or you but I object to your insulting language, perhaps it's jealousy ? Tell you what I'll pretend to agree with you next time how about that ?

but thanks for the critique...

Come on DT that is a bit simplistic - there is a bit more to it than that don't you think....

Yes agreed - the usual suspects came out pointing the finger as they always do - but even after the usual hysteria these muppets create - there is something there in alot of American's that could not say their goverment did not play a part...

Now there is something deeply wrong with that....

I doubt you could find many people apart from the odd loon that would suggest the British Govt played any part in 7/7

A huge gulf don't you think??

Nice to see your still up for it

Yes, it is a bit simplistic, but sometimes this is the right answer, Many people belive Kennedy was killed as part of any number of conspiracies, likewise Diana. The media love this, and feed the frenzy, it's how they make money. The truth remains that a rather unremakable ex US marine marksman killed JFK in the deluded belief that he was furthering his political aims. Diana was killed by a drunk driver.

The remarkable can be killed by the unremarkable,

America still can't come to terms with that consequently they're going to struggle with 9/11.

Yeah - but nobody jumped up and down pointing the finger at UK.Gov or sercurity service...etc.

Yes obviously the amount killed is not on the scale of 9/11 - but to be fair 7/7 could have been far worse and could easily have approached 1000 dead....

It was only poor time management and one failed explosive that prevented a larger loss...

But some of the people that question the American Gov of involvement are not all crackpots...

I am still on the fence - not enough evidence either way to pull me in one direction or the other....so still have an open mind.

But I am also minded of how close the Bush family were to the Bin ladens...and that doesn't sit well with me...

Or the fact that the Taliban was cutting of the supply of Heroin - only to find that they would be routed and ousted from Afgaf so the poppy can be allowed to grow again....War is an ugly business...but what is uglier is the spectre's that sit behind the show

You seem to be in total denial that all
these new laws that have been passed are
being used for purposes other than the
exaggerated terrorist threat they were
meant to deal with.

You sadly have been hoodwinked into
thinking that by giving up your freedoms
bit by bit, your government can protect
you from suicide terrorist attacks.
Unfortunately that's just a lie to make
people like you roll over and ask for more.

Meh, pointless to continue this.

The CRS are a brigade of the gendarmerie
and are therefore funded from the
the French military. So are the pompiers
(firemen).

So long as you can pass for white and are
not rioting then you normally don't cross
paths.

It the armed undercover cops and
Police National you need to be careful of.
They can do anything they want to you.
If it's your word against a cop: you lose, you will
be found guilty in a French court.

If you found it insulting then you must be a sensitive soul. The tone of my post was the least you could expect given the inflammtory statements you've been making. Your comments about showing loyalty etc. reminded me of the classic American response to any criticism of their government "Why do you hate freedom"?

He just wants anyone who doesn't
match his ideals of loyalty to the state
to be locked up or executed.

You brought the issue of loyalty up. If you cant have an impassioned argument without reverting to insults perhaps you shouldn't play ?
