Yea...Can I get a blahblahblah...

So - I popped into the local chip shop on the way home last night to get the Loons and me some dinner (as Mrs F was abandoning her post and going out for curry - leaving us poor lads to fend for ourselves )

The lady infront of me orders her food thus....


Chip shop Lady "Yes Please?"

"Yea ... Can I get a blah..a blahblah and a blahblahblah"





For reasons I can't fully explain that gets right up my snout
Quite apart from the lack of a "please" and "thank you"...

"Can I get.." - No you can't fec...flippin' Get....

I hope the reply from the chip shop steward was ... "I don't know can you?"

Yes its true that manners seem to be sadly lacking in todays society, a simple please and thanks goes a long way and its not hard to say really.

Unfortunately I find my self saying "I'll take a ...."
Which I think is due to my French speaking.

Its not just tha lack of manners though...its the whole "Can I get.." bit ...whats wrong with "Could I have.." or "Can I have..."
