Yep - they tried to deliver mine on Thursday - but I wasn't in. Because they used "signed for" I had to arrange a new date and it arrived this morning.
Talk about a disappointment! I thought someone must've sent me something real REALLY nice in the mail.

Re: 159 / Brera Experiences
Just reading through this. Over 60% of owners have had problems That's really poor for such an expensive car isn't it??

Re: 159 / Brera Experiences
My wipers aren't switching off now I have to switch backwards and forwards until it decides it will switch them off
Then if I use the 'Flick Wipe' they start up again
I'm still waiting for the Dealer to get the right part number for the carpet and we're both waiting for answers from Italy regarding the Rear Wiper Radio interference and the Alarm problem

Chief Techie Version: We fitted a kit supplied by AR Italy
Carpet Fiasco

Just seen yours above.. May i ask what was the culprit of yr in-out fades on the panel ? I got the very same thing twice or more, not to mention the consumption average indication momentarily knocked off a whole litre..which then reappeared.. thanks
p.s. would second the 'in between' vote..

I have no idea. How does it compare to BMW/Merc/Audi - anyone know?

Re: 159 / Brera Experiences
Hello,
Well apart from total and complete engine failure with a fuel injection system fault.
And
The dash board having a rattle which they are fixing today.
The rain sensors are perfect for me (rare it seems)
The lights automatic settings are great.
The hi-fi (bose) rocks!
The parking sensors are actually great (the ones with the little map)
All my doors are the same colour (Sorry Hunter, couldn't resist )
My brakes work ( Sorry Hunter, couldn't resist again )
The q-tronic is really fun for an auto box.
The seats are nice.
I wanted to tick a box marked --major problems but still love my Alfa.
Just my 2 pennies worth.

Re: 159 / Brera Experiences
Points in favour: The car is a fun drive, looks damn good, and handles like no other in its segment, and I did drive most of them. If driving pleasure and exciting car design means anything to you, this is the car to go for. The feeling of being on the wheel is uncomparable. I had many fears about reliability and assembling quality, but I haven't confirmed any of the bad reputation Alfas have with some drivers.
Points against: the only thing to report is a little rattling noise coming from the dashboard, which you can hear if paying attention, so it hasn't become a nuisance. Hoping it will be quickly solved as I hand it for its first service.
Also, it's not the most economic of its range, but then I must admit I do like hearing it rev a bit every now and again ;-).
Overall: I'm extremely happy so far.

Problems so far:
1) Auto wipers that are completly random, checked by dealer and told that they are fine!
2) Missfire/hunting on light throttle accompanied by 'hole' in the power at about 3500rpm when accelerating. Had new EGR but no joy.
3) After 5800 miles the inside edge of the front tyres was completely bold, metal reinforcement come through with 7200 on the clock. When i contacted Hylton of worcester (supplying dealer) they said checked the alignment and everything was 'within tolerances'. Told to go and get new tyres and they would check it again. Very Poor!
Beging to wish i had kept my merc, it may have been a bus to drive but at least i didnt have to take it to the dealer every month, and when i did they fixed the problem not fob you off.
Have now raise the issue with Alfa customer services but they seem to have the same level of service as the dealers, no contact from them in over nine days.
People used to slag of MG rover for building crap cars, well i never had half the problem with my ZTT as this and when i did have a problem the dealer fixed it!
Just though i'd give an update on the issues:
1) wipers fixed twice, still as random as ever!
2) Missfire fixed for the third time (EGR cleaned, EGR replaced and faulty injector), still misses!
3) tyre wear - 4 wheel tracking done, steering then came loose while on holiday in Devon !! A vey nice man had to come and tighten up the track rod end and then back to the dealer for alignment....again.
Just about to have a conversation with the Service manager again. Think i'm just going to send it back. P**s Poor!

Re: 159 / Brera Experiences
Not about the track rod end coming loose. The dealer 'bought me off' with a tank of gas, a bag of goodies and the promise that heads would roll! Quite cheap really, if it had come off on the M5 @70mph, burring a family of four cost a little more!!
I'm not looking to get people fired, i just want my car fixed!!

Re: 159 / Brera Experiences
Have done 3000 km. Engine light went on, stayed for 300 km, then off again. Will have the dealer check tomorrow. Battery light comes on every now and then (just switch the engine off, then back on and the light goes out).
Q-Tronic is fantastic
Wiper sensors are rubbish (as in the GTA)
Light sensors and parking sensors great
Blu & Me works perfect ; standard audio is OK
No alarm (it is optional over here, but my dealer advised not to take it as it is often faulty)
A great car all in all.

Re: 159 / Brera Experiences
Mine's 2.5 months and 2200 miles old and has been great really. Only faults:
1) Passenger window used to lower when closing the passenger door. Fixed in one day by dealer.
2) Faulty oil pressure sensor (causing rev surging at idle) replaced.
The thing about the oil level I posted on here turned out to be fine, they | |
