Re: What's your computer?
i probably own the crappiest computer here but it is capable of surfing the net, play the odd not so up-to-date games and leave my message here so i am happy.
Windows XP is a lot better now especially with the introduction of service packs. these softwares stops spyware, viruses everything altogether even without the need of extra softwares like Norton, pop-up stopper etc. I do like Mac's designs too, way better than microsoft etc.

Well this is only a cheap ThermalTake Soprano case and it looks cool enough...I mean you can let your imagination go wild without spending vast amounts of money.

Re: What's your computer?
Must sound like a tornado that case peterwolf
Windows gets a hard time from people but it is very good has been for years any issues typically arrive from people being cheap (buying crap unbranded hardware with **** software and drivers) and on the virus side people being stupid (opening attachments etc. for unknown sources)
My mediapc has been running solid for 18 months bar a small period where I moved house, use it for games on the big TV like pro evo/mame when mates are around, movies, PVR with webserver etc. never had a crash and no need to reboot it, its running XP and can be controlled via the web, superb. It also looks good, the case matches my TV.
PCs can look as good as you want them too its just a matter of spending money in the right places, most Macs are low end hardware in a nice case, the good macs cost a packet and are very PC like, cases not disimilar to something from Lian LI, for me my main PC is very high end, theres no making it look good as I have to fit all my water cooling and rather large graphics cards in etc. but its not hideous, just big.
I am not mac bashing BTW, being a hardcore gamer which likes to be at the cutting edge the MAC is wrong for me.

Re: What's your computer?
AMD Athlon XP 3200+ with1Gb RAM + 120Gb HDD + 19" High definition CRT monitor. Used mainly for work at home. It has a 6800 Graphics card and run Quake 4 on Ultra detail well, needs all 5 120mm cooling fans when OC'ed to hades to do this. Great bit of kit! 2 years old, but will soon be ripped to bit for a new 64but AMDx2 chip and 7800 GPU. Thinking also striped HDDs + Vast backup drive.

Actually it's very quiet believe it or not. The 12cm fans are spinning at only 1300rpms the side fan is also surprisingly silent and the Zalman CPU cooler fan speed can be controlled from silent 1300 to loud 2500rpms I never use more then 1700rpms. The only thing that is loud is the stock VCard fan which I'll get rid of soon.

Re: What's your computer?
This is interesting, Alfa Owners are also Mac Owners, we truly
'think different'
p.s. I'm being forced to work in a Windows only environment and it's really come a long way over the last 5 years. Windows XP is about as rock solid as XP will ever get now. So if you want to upgrade to Vista you should wait 5 years for Microsoft to patch all the security flaws in it.

Re: What's your computer?
20" iMac G5. My own and no going back. Love it.
Dell laptop for work - hate it. Can't be ar5ed checking the model but it's a Lattitude summat or other.
Also, both the Dell laptop and free-standing screen in my office are so much duller ("dirtier") colours than on my iMac. I really noticed this on the scrolling icons on the left hand panel on AO front page. HUGE difference.
