I have a G3 PowerBook Bronze, a machine that runs at 400 mhz but is still capable of running the latest Mac OS with no probs whatsoever. how cool is that for longevity of your purchase?

Re: What's your computer?

Right now on my HP pavilion zd7000 laptop 3.6 P4, best i could find about 8 months ago. Great big 17'' widescreen.

Just ordered a new desktop from Dell. Pretty much all singing all dancing. I'll never use it to its full potential, I ain't a clue what I'm doing half the time!

And now:

4GB iPod Nano (black)
60GB iPod (w/video)
All of you into MP3 players - sell whatever you've got and get a Nano - they are so small, light and cool that my wife is now selling her mini iPod to get one like mine - Waaaay cool!

Not quite sure what you mean. I have close to 900 songs, an audio book, a bunch of podcast news stories and lots of family and travel photos loaded onto it. Would probably take me a week of heavy use before I heard the same song twice. The reason I wanted a nano is because my gym only plays gangsta rap - I like certain kinds of hiphop, but not the "lets k*ll all the cops and r*pe the white girls" kind of songs. I like all kinds of music and want to be able to choose my own music when I work out.

Anyhow, my 60GB holds about 15,000 songs, would probably be closer to a decade before you heard the same song twice...

Just a typo - make enough of those on this forum! Point is, though my larger iPods are great too (especially with photo/video capability), the Nano is delightfully small and light, and like my 147 GTA, totally pleasing on the eyes!

You've got the new video iPod already? That's quick. There's supposed to be something new on October 19 which might add more mac to your collection.

Unfortunately, the video iPod is backordered a week so mine hasn't arrived yet - So's the Nano, but I was lucky enough to get the last one they has at the Apple Store just last week...

Re: What's your computer?

I have something a little unusual, a Compaq TC1000 Tablet PC with a Transmeta Crusoe processor.

Basically it emulates a lot of the Intel processor in software, so it uses less power and produces less heat. Unfortnately they never were the quickest things around so never were very popular. I love mine, tough little bugger, I've taken it all over the world, dropped it a few times and it's still going
