You will need a "Some antique O/s from some 80's phone that is still better than any of this lot" option for the Nevster

Symbian on my reliable Sony Ericsson P1i but I do like the ease of use of the iphone, i guess as much as anything because of the large screen.
Just about to buy my wife a Nokia E72 so will see how that works out

LOve Android on my htc hero.
One touch for most things and very stable. ALso, not as many app's as iphone but lots more are free..bonus!
Other half has the Apple thing and my Android 'seems' quicker.
But everyone unto their own.. or something like that!

I am on my 2nd android phone and love it. I do have a HTC that runs symbiant but hate it with a passion, also have one running the iphone os.. and android is far better. Had a chance to have a play with a iphone4 at recent gadget show and its better but well 2.2 andriod is better again.. with the snapdragon processor its so good.
God I sound like a super geek now. I am hoping to get the Dell streak next. Although be hard pressed not to get another HTC.

Im running Android, but I will admit I had no idea about softwear and apps till i got my Experia X10. It does exactly what I want to it no problem at all.

I'm split 50/50 as I pay for two phones, one for my partner (Sony erricson x10) android and my 3GS with Os4 and I love them both, I love the new os4 on the iPhone especially being able to put things into folders and it's loads quicker because of the multitasking.

Whatever you do, don't upgrade ( ) to the E72. It is absolute crap compared to the E71, which is by far the best business phone IMHO.

Don't do it! Get her an E71 instead. Yeh, it's an older model, but far more stable, better built and logical.
Getting my E72 triggered the purchasing of an Android phone. Nokia were losing their way, and broke all the things that worked so perfectly on previous devices.
I now have an HTC Hero, rooted, overclocked and running a custom Android 2.1 ROM.
Android is just so customisable that I really can't see myself having anything else for a very long time.
Nokia is dead. Long live HTC (and Android)

3GS with OS4. New OS a bit flaky but loving folders, multi tasking (listening to radio via app & surfing AO as I type) & the overall speed gain.
B & M connectivity is patchy though.
Needs refining but another step forward

I use a BlackBerry Curve 8520 as my personal 'phone, and a Nokia E72 as my business 'phone.
Ironically, given the BlackBerry's primary function as a business tool, it does the personal 'phone thing really well. I like a handset with a proper QWERTY keybaord (hence the choice of both models), but on balance prefer the BlackBerry OS (version 5.0) to the Nokia's Symbian S60.
Having said that, there's not a lot wrong with Symbian, it's just that the BlackBerry OS is better resolved and more stable.

Hmmmm..............didnt buy the E72 because the ones here have useless combined Arabic / English letters on the keyboard so not particularly clear to see compared to normal english keyboard.
Might buy the E71 for now but getting tempted by HTC
