Robin Hood

Have there been enough versions of Robin Hood on TV and cinema?

After the BBC relaunch a couple of years ago. (Only watched 1episode,
HTV's productions was way more fun.)

We now have Russell Crow as the robber of legend.

Every time I think about a Robin Hood Film now, that bloody awful Bryan Adams song " Everything I do, I do for you " comes to mind. I think it was number 1 in the charts for about a Year, and on EVERYWHERE I went, at the time !!!!........

I could see the film being quite good. The BBC series ... I watched the first episode and I'm not sure I've ever seen anything as pathetic. Every part of it was terrible.

Russell crow = win.. so don't care.. and I kinda like the Robin Hood stories.. I was in Sherwood forest actually last night.( what's left of it) Often go there as its local to me. Next month in Nottingham they have a month of celebrations for Robin Hood.

As a small child, I used to love the BBC TV series with Richard Greene playing Robin, but the many films and TV series that followed haven't been up to much, though Sean's boy Jason Connery wasn't too bad. The all-time worst was probably Kevin Costner in a dreadful film that appeared to have been filmed in Yellowstone National Park. He lands near Dover at the start of the film, and is in Nottingham later that day, you couldn't even do that today by Inter-City.

I quite like Alan Rickman, but his acting in that film was so over the top, he was coming up the other side. The story at the time was that Costner felt so overshadowed by Rickman when the two were on screen together, he had most of his scenes cut, but that didn't help Kevin much. He was still just as forgettable as he has been in almost every other film he's ever appeared in.

The Greatest Robin Hood of them all was played by a born and bred Englishman.
