Brown, and other variations, such as 'Roman Bronze' enjoyed popularity during the '60s and '70s. They are however, hideous colours. There is a brown Cayenne, which lives locally and it always looks, to me, like a giant turd.

Gotta be "Couldn't be bothered to colour it in" fleet car fridge white.
I think the only car that suits it is the Lambo Countach (Because of the contrasting black NACA ducts).
Used to drive a brown Austin Maxi (the muck bucket) so brown does not bother me.

Red is bootiful' but goes pink!! Green is reputedly the most relaxing bonnet to view on long journeys? So maybe a new Jag in BRG would be ok?

That BL Brown (Russet?) was particularly vile.

I used to have a metallic brown Granada which I thought looked quite good. I think Alfa red is fab, I just wish they would find a way of stopping it turning pink. Black looks very cool though I'm told black cars show dirt and scratches quite badly. I haven't owned one myself, though I have it in mind to get a black GT V6 in the near future

brown is the worst
vomit green and orange only work on lambos
white can look the dogs on the right car, sportscars look amazing in white, new shape spider in white with tan leather and graphite ti alloys=trouser accident(unless some heathen has put a tractor engine in it, rather than the 3.2l)
and silver is the choice of those with no imagination(although it is a safe colour, nothing looks rubbish in silver)
red only works on sportscars, although the 159sw ti does look great in red.
black is a bit dull and looks ****e when even slightly dirty
every car looks good in graphite grey.

I'm thinking that some cars do look good in the 'Vomit Green.'

I think you can get away with brown on 70s cars. e.g. MK1 Granadas look slightly odd in any other colour. For me it's pink. Firstly because it's usually a really gash respray and secondly because it will belong to one of those women who giggle inanely all the time for whom everything has to be pink.

Hearing-aid Beige
Closely followed by Brown, White, Gold and Orange in that order.

For mine, the best colour also has the potential to be the worst colour.
A clean, black Alfa? Outstanding.
A dirty, black Alfa? Ordinary.
Brown, for mine, just doesn't work. Period. Just like silver seems to works on almost every car.
Some blues can look quite good.
A well maintained, Alfa red, free from fade looks superb.
It's all subjective though of course.

Gold is horrible in all its pretencious "Champagne" shades through to garish Bling.
I'd agree with pink but that isn't a "normal" ex works colour for most car makers.

Gold - eurgggh!
Some seemingly gold cars are actually marketed as freakish shades of green or white.
Gold clashes hideously with any chrome on a car too!

It is my understanding that Lexus LS400s were only ever made in gold. If you see one that isn't gold it's been painted and the Lexus Style Police (identifiable by the gold plated L badges on chains round their necks) must be informed immediately.

Red definitely...then black... as the dirt shows up SO quickly
I wish I still had a white car, she always looked so clean...and polished up beautifully.
Brown is pap as is the burgundy colour my hubby's toledo was when we met (Kind of like rust, which is good, as it hid the rust!)
I'd like a metallic blue car....
